Now this is what I call a HUGE park. Not only is
just about every inch of this 225x225 some odd tile map covered with
stuff, but the number of people who built that stuff is a staggering 22, thats got to be a record, but I guess that's what happens when a park goes on for close to 5 years!?
This project all started back in 2002 when SirSpinster and Ello decided
to do a park based on architecture. They started by building in the
center of the park on a kinda grid with all types of buildings and
things in small square areas. Most of the guests built on the large
outskirts of this area. Austin Powers did the parks wonderful name
structures all over paying a sorta tribute to different club members.
AP also chipped in a hotel. OCF and
JKay also pitched in some stuff, or well we think they did, this park
was sent to so many people such a long time ago it's not even 100%
clear who built what in a few areas!
Now the idea in this park was to make buildings and demonstrate how good a
parkmaker can be with architecture, but just about no one did that and
just went with themed stuff. Supertrooper was an exception with his
terribly twisted tower structure and ride pictured to the far
left. A nice example of solid theming can be seen in the same screen
with Jacko Shanty's area thats carried by a wild go-karts adventure
ride and a surplus of mine train roves.
I managed to work on the park the most as it turned out making 2 full
areas and finishing 2 others. Pictured above is a really weird area I
did a few years ago that sports a B&M Wooden coaster and a poorly
exacted idea that is my vertical mall. Also in the screen you can see
some of Steve's old work from back when he was a 2x2 whore.
Six Frags pulled off (imo) one of the best areas in the park, and he built
it like 3 years ago! SF used a circler style of archy that really
defined his area and looked great at the same time. Also in the screen
is a great example of teamwork and blending of styles. Would you
believe 3 people did that Medieval sorta section with the custom
supported Wooden coaster? Well it's true. Titan started it all loooong
ago by making the entrance, then last year RCTNW built the coaster
layout, but the area was still unfinished untill a few weeks ago when
thx to his RCTF Survivor win we asked 5Dave to take it and sure enough
he rapped out what turned out to be one of the strongest areas of the
park.
Above you catch a rare glimpse of a finished area by tyandor.
Needless to say it's damn good stuff he pulled off on a park with
custom scenery from 2002 when it was in it's beta stages, however ty
manages pretty well and that wooden coaster coasters awesomeness also
helps that area a lot. Who did that blue coaster? Well remember
Hulkpower? He was one of my favorite old school RCT2 guys, imo a cross
between RCTNW and IOAGuy. A great area by Hulk that I really liked for
it's simplicity.
I saved the best for last. Penguin_BOB's 4 year old entrance is just
amazing, the creativity on this guy is on another level and add the
fact that he did this 4 years ago! and damn... BOB I wish you built
more, I love your work. Also in the screen you can see one of the parks
joint areas by Richie and X250 who combined (via me forcing X250 to
finish Richie's area what was unfinished for about 2 years.) to make a
good pirate area no matter how you slice or swashbuckle it.
Overall it's a truly monumental park that shows that massive
projects can get finished. However all the news is not good for RCTF.
It's with a heavy Heart that I must reveal that this is the the end of
RCTF. The club is now closed, disbanded, kaput and history. I have
really enjoyed all my time working with them and will miss the old
times which were waning. You can get more into about the closing of the
club and Archicon here.
