Six Frags has been a force in RCT2 for a very
long time. He's made both PT Finals and placed respectably in each, won
an amazing 5 VP awards at some other little RCT site you may have heard
of, he even comes close to my own park count with 20+ parks compleated.
Now Six Frags finally has a big NE release under his belt with
Mystique!
In
the first screen you can see the parks entrance, when I first opened
the park and saw it I thought this park was going to be a spotlight,
it's that good. Six Frag's shows as how well he can pull off different
atmospheres. Also near the entrance you get a taste og his Innovative
landscaping with the mini orange tree tops littering some type of
shrine made of wooden ladders. In the second screen you can see Buwaka
Swami, another great example of landscaping and atmosphere. For me this
areas rapids "Cascade Rapidoante" was the best ride in the park with
it's beautiful overgrown rocky landscapeing.
I
have always liked themes that pull off the games red rock terrain and
Medievoqo does just that. Red rocks, roves, flowers all with a dash of
purple. The main ride here is Minoquatica, a decent river ride that
crawls around the area. Next in the Mediterroni area you get a kinda
greek atmosphear with all the bright white and blue architecture, it
almost looks like something out of Lord of the Rings. When I came to
this area and saw "Xana" I could feel the parks spotlight aspersions
slide down fairly low. It's not the worst coaster I have ever seen by
any means, but it just does not really make any good use of it's space
and the layout leaves something to be desired.
The
coasters in the park may have been a bit of a down point, however duels
usually deliver and I think Sia & Mesa do, even if there layouts
are a little short. This last area of the park was probably the most
soild and had the most attractions in the park. In the final screen we
take one more look at the Buwaka Swami area with it's big bad coaster
"Bubba Hoteb" one thing I loved about this park was all the weird
names, they were a lot of fun, kinda reminds me of Twisted's naming.
Overall this park earns a Super Runner-Up, it's not quite at
Spotlight level, but it's better then a Runner-Up. I think Six Frags
can reach Spotlight, however he needs better coasters, theming and a
little more creativity, but he's got the rest down imo. Also with this
release I think it's time to make Six Frags one of the NE family after
his years of consistant great hard work. So congrats on the SRU Hans
and welcome to the team!
