For years Metropole has been one of the best RCT2
parkmakers in the game, but always seemed to be behind the bigger guns.
Well now I think Metro is starting to push his way towards the front
and become elite. Once again we have a park that was started years ago,
seemingly forgotten and now, maybe thanks to the contest gap, finished
and released here at NE, Metro's long awaited video game epic park,
Soul Calibur.
In this first screen you get a great look at Metro's awesome entrance.
Metro has always been one of the best parkmakers when it comes to
making large buildings. The entrance is highlighted by Orichalcum; a
large B&M with the slandered terrific Metro style layout we have
come to expect from him.
Soryuju is one of the parks two water rides and sports an outstanding duel
layout. Each flume comes with a whooping 68ft drop making it more
extreme then most water rides. Also in this section you will find the
parks mine train coaster, The Legend of Zelda. Now maybe this is where
having never played Soul Calibur hurts the review, but I think thats
another game? Ah moving on...
The parks star attraction might just be Ayus & Manus. This set
of dueling 4D coasters is in a word: Amazing. Not all the credit on
these can be given to Metro. The layouts were provided by Phil (aka
Voodoo, and like 15 or 9 other names I can't remember atm). The
inversions, the wicked custom supports, the underground flyby... it all
adds up to one of the best interactive coaster areas ever in RCT.
It's
no secreat that Metro is a master of B&M inverts and Soul Edge is
without a doubt one of his best ever. The flow on the layout is
incredible. I think the only thing that hurts it was the dark dank
atmosphere, but I guess the coaster should fit it's characters theme,
so great work.
Now we know Metro has mastered steel coasters, but with Lethe he gives
us a look at what wonderful things he can do with wood. One of my
favorite things in the park was the recreated fighting arenas you can
see in the middle of the park and within the theming on Orichalcum. The
biggest and best would probably be Ayutthaya with it's scenic location
on the river, excellent work on those Metro.
The
other main guest spot in the park is Janus' spectacular White Storm
rapids, which makes the color orange look amazing and that is not an
easy feat! This ride put "DJ" on the map as a true RCT2 force and he
received an NE parkmaker spot soon after. Metro you are a hell of a
parkmaker, but you got to admit you did let Phil and Janus steal a
little bit of your thunder with their respective amazing contributions.
Great work Metro and believe it or not after seeing this Corkscrewed
said he was willing to make it a Spotlight! Yeah that from the same guy
who wronged Tussaud's Boscastle Heights last year. I guess this time I
was the bad guy as I deemed it only SRU worthy, but hey I am sure your
not alarmed and still feel safety in your chances of finally napping that allusive NE Spotlight one day...
