With
parks like this one, Mortician's, and JKay's, you can just tell how
amazing this long-awaited spotlight round is. The newest in the RCT
Masters chain of group park pits two unique parkmakers together. Both
are known as two of the most realistic and amazing hotel builders in
the game, with RCTNW's gigantic land-dwarving hotels mixed with
rwadam's more architecturally impressive but less imposing ones. So we
knew the hotel's would be massive and extreme, but how would the rest
of the park fare? After a pretty disappointing last place finish from
rwadams in the Pro Tour, deciding to enter with a LL entry instead of
his strong suit RCT2...he proves to us even more why he should have
entered in the sequel. The two parkmakers styles' mesh beautifully as
through most of the park you can't even tell who is who. The theme is
completely original, bringing the best in NASCAR and creating a one of
a kind thrill park themde to it. Every coaster in the park has some
sort of racing aspect to it, keeping with the Nascar spirit.
When it comes to hotels no-one does it better then RCTNW and here he outdoes himself with the massive NASCAR Hotel. This thing is so freakin big it hogs about 10% of this huge 256x256 map! Don't let the size fool you tho, it's got the details to. On the property you have tennis courts, a monorail station, water slides and a big pool that seems to flow right out of the hotel lobby, Awesome work.
Here
you can see the outstanding entrance plaza area in the park. This
screen really shows what you can expect from the park. A very
welcoming, realistic atmosphere with that 'amusement park' touch to it,
while still being creative enough and original. Theming without
overtheming. You can also see the checkerboard style architecture in
this screen...something else that is extremely evident throughout the
rest of the park. I've never really been too amazed by the checkerboard
land style, but these two use it so tastefully that it just feels
right. Finally, they prove they know how to use grass to their
advantage. I love when parkmakers use patches of grass in the right
ways, and this park definitely does that quite a bit.
Now we come to another structure by RCTNW that might be visible from outer space with the huge sprawling NASCAR Museum. The building is complimented by quite a few great realistic touches like the road going under and through it, the parking lots, the paths, he does not miss a beat. At first I thought that it may be another one of his convention centers, but nope, it's a museum. James builds so many huge things it really makes me wonder if he's compensating for something? Lol, na just kidding man.
This
screen shows the psychotic quad-duelers in the park: "The Rock". A set
of four dueling B&M Coasters....two hyper coasters and two
floorless coasters all battling (reminiscent of ancient Danimation
Spotlight "Adventure World" by Sirspud) themed to four of the biggest
companies in NASCAR: D.E.I., Hendrick MotorSports, Joe Gibbs, and RCR.
Some outstanding ratings, awesome duels, and a photo finish to the
checkered flag all make this my favorite ride in the park. You can also
see the "Talladega" themed racing Reverse Freefalls in this picture as
well, even more racing/dueling coasters.
You got to love a good waterpark, even if it is a bit small. Here rwadams gives us the Daytona Beach Waterpark fully equipped with water tricycles, splash boats and even more NASCAR owner themed rides, this time in the form of racing slides. I think all thats missing from this Daytona theme is wild topless spring breakers, be sure not to forget that in your next NASCAR park please.
Here
you can see the station for the racing wooden coasters themed to
Daytona: "Dale Earnhardt" and "Richard Petty" by rwadams and themed after the two
most recognizable and legendary NASCAR drivers of all time. While one
of the coasters seems to have very average ratings, the other ones have
10+ ratings somewhat unexplainably, although the ride does have a
beautiful layout as it coasts on the shorelines. You can also see some
of rwadams' pattened architecture here in this screen, or at least what
I think is his. In the upper right a small preview of "Martinsville -
Yates" can be seen, a set of racing modified Intamin Impulse Coasters.
Congratulations to the two of you...you guys also put up one hell of a
run for Spotlight and in many other rounds you guys could have most
definitely had it. Great job though, I was definitely impressed by both
of you and can't wait to see more.
