Tussaud's Boscastle Heights

Quaint, charming, and full of ferocious thrill
rides. That's a Tussaud's park (well, except for the crappy Chessington
one), and that's what Metropole has brought in his latest--and probably
best--creation to date: Tussaud's Boscastle Heights!
We start off the the swash buckle bay section with a seldom scene Indoor/Outdoor mini coaster and a nice little flat ride simply named whirlpool. This area really shows us what a master Metro is of nailing atmospheres and getting everything to flow from the coaters to the smaller rides.
After
passing through the purply medieval entrance area of Castle Street,
visitors can turn left and enter the fascinating world of ancient Egypt
in The Forgotten Kingdom. This area is home to Ramses: King of Speed,
an Intamin rocket coaster so totally inspired by Alton Towers' Rita:
Queen of Speed that the play on words and themes is utterly hilarious.
It doesn't hurt that this baby is absolutely gorgeous as well. The
coaster is the compact, turns-galore speed circuit that Rita is, but
the area surrounding it is what astounds me. Metro's managed to craft
an Egyptian area that's not quite Egyptian in the traditional sense,
but there's a delicious atmosphere of dusty Middle Eastern streets and
bazaars. The buildings retain a warmth that is often hard to create
with stone based architecture, and the landscaping really brightens up
the area.
Now we run in to one of the more oddly named rides I can remember, Professor Burp's Zombie Invasion. The ride is a type I never even considered in all my years of playing RCT, an Indoor rapids, really a great idea and Metro pulls it off wonderfully even if it is hidden behind a lovely facade. Also in the upper left you get a peek at Nemesis Ethereal, I mean would it be a Metropole park without a B&M Invert?!
Dimension
X is our Sector X ripoff, though it's still very nicely done in its own
right. Occupying this prime real estate is Void, a next-generation
B&M Dive Machine X250 contributed to the park that takes innovations from Sheikra and makes them
metal teal and futuristic!
When you enter the park you'll find yourself on Castle Street. Here you can find all the basics you'll need upon entering a park from maps to popcorn. Also in this area are the main stations for the parks pair of steam railways (one going clockwise and one counter-clockwise).
Near
the back of the park is Land of the Dinosaur, a very charming area
vibrant in kid-friendly theming and rides. Og-Swinger takes riders for
a spin while Archelon is a family coaster for thrill seekers of all
sizes above the height limit. Though small, this area struck me as a
wonderful area just to relax and enjoy the day. There's a lot of rich
atmosphere in such small a setting.
So, Metro, bravo on an extremely solid Blockbuster. A little more
refinement would have made this park even better, but given the
circumstances towards the end of park construction, what you've made is
still pretty awesome. Now finish Soul Calibur!
