Game Version: RCT2
Parkmaker: prodigy

Every so often, a park comes out of left field. It’s safe to say that until today, most members here have not heard of prodigy. Starting out at rct-world.com, prodigy began with his PHL’91 project that showed quite a lot of promise in his architectural ability. From there, he moved on to several ‘World of Pleasure’ parks. With his first release here on New Element, prodigy introduces World of Pleasure - Mönchengladbach.

While not particularly large, there are several areas and 4 coasters total. The entrance opens into a large plaza surrounded by pleasant two-storey architecture. Behind these structures is the park’s largest building, housing 3 rides behind an arched glass façade. Across the midway lies Nookie, the park’s largest coaster. While rather short in length, the ride packs 6 inversions into a tight layout along the side of the park. Castle Farystone is a Gerstlauer bobsled that flies in and around a medieval themed area. This ride doesn’t particularly fit into a themed area, but exists on its own in a back corner of the park. Sharing the back section is a mythology themed section anchored by Wings of Icarus. This hacked water coaster / flume ride takes place entirely over water across from a boardwalk style path with a row of nice architecture. After a quick pass through the curiously themed Gotham City section, guests reach the pirate themed area. Treasure Train is a powered coaster that interacts with Wild River, a hacked log flume.

World of Pleasure - Mönchengladbach is a very nice small park with quite a few rides and pleasant, detailed architecture. The foliage is a little weak and some of the themed areas lack cohesion, but overall this is a very solid park. We can hope that prodigy will continue to build parks and continue to improve!

World of Pleasure isn't a park we often get here at NE. prodigy comes from a German community called RCT-world and you can also see that his style differs from the usual we get here at NE. The park has some nice ideas and rides in it. And the execution is also very well done. His architecture and ride skills are very impressive. The only things that I didn't like about the park were the landscape and foliage, which is quite boring sometimes. Also he seems to struggle with laying out the park a bit. Some parts are just too cluttered. Also I found it quite dissapointing that most of the buildings had no real purpose and hopefully prodigy could work on the naming a bit more. (I mean Nookie is quite a strange name for a coaster ;) ) Congrats prodigy, I see a bright future for you!

I’d never heard of prodigy before seeing this park, but now I really hope to see more of his work. The park isn’t the biggest, and I’d say the foliage leaves things to be desired, but the ride and architecture designs are very well done. Each of the coasters has some sort of hack that’s not only useful, but makes the ride look great. I was especially impressed by the Gerstlauer bobsled coaster, which really grabs the feel of one of the most difficult styles to do in RCT. I really hope to see prodigy keep on working, as he could easily become one of my favorite builders.
