Throughout NE’s history, there have always been underrated parkmakers, those whose work stays fantastically consistent and high-quality, despite not being one of the most prominent members on the forums. Fisch has been around for years, already pocketing two NE designs with Buccaneer and Morded, both “vanilla” designs without custom scenery. Since then, Fisch participated in RCT Majesty’s Silver accolade, Majestic Paradise, and was a member on the H2H5-winning Hurricanes, winning in Week 2, along with JDP, for ImaginIt. During this period, he advertised a design, but eventually needed help with finishing it. After cycling through multiple members, Fisch finally found someone who stuck. Cena, another ex-Majesty member, finished the last bits of the design, which is now presented to you, faithful NE followers, as NE’s newest design, Nautílos.

Another B&M design, Nautílos’ blue rails curve their way over a Greek-inspired town. Curiously, this town is, like Fisch’s two other designs, a departure from the signature style he’s shown in the Ad District, sporting more simplistic 2x2 buildings than minutely detailed “haus”es that characterize his more recent work. The coaster itself is a wonderfully-flowing floorless, with a diagonal drop heading straight into a dive loop. From there, the layout rockets into several more inversions, including a cobra roll that interacts with a large ship. The coaster itself weaves throughout the buildings, above paths, and under tunnels. Another highlight would be the bumper boats, which manage to co-exist with perhaps the largest grouping of white-water tiles not associated with a waterfall.

Overall, Nautílos is a quality design, and it’s great to see Fisch finally release a finished project with custom scenery. We can only hope that Nautílos is a good sign for the upcoming year, and hopefully we’ll see a lot more from our fishy friend in 2010.
