Almost a year after the park was finished, NE's Chateau Lake Amusement
Park is finally released. The first ever uni-themed group park, all
following the same traditional tone. Located in Phoenix, Arizona, NE's
Chateau Lake Amusement Park is one of the more rustic,
western-traditional type parks you'll ever see. Originally opening in 1986
with one coaster (Tidal Wave), the park continued to expand until being
purchased by New Element Parks in 1992. From there, a flurry of new
rides and expansions were added to the park, and by the time 2003
rolled aorund, it had grown into one of the most popular parks on the
west coast. A great place to bring the family on a hot, sunny, Arizona
day, and experience one of the best times of your life. Five separate
New Element Park Designers collaborated together at various times to
bring together the ultimate theme park experience. With wooden
coasters, steel coasters, water rides, and almost anything else you can
think of, Chateau Lake is definitely worth the measley $30 ticket
price. Thanks to all those who participated in the construction of the
park, and I hope everyone here enjoys it.
Western Junction -
Schuessler
Put on your cowboy boots and pick up some chewing tobacco, cause the
Western Junction is up first. Featuring a great arsenal of rides to be
found, highlighted by "Bandit", the classic Double Out and Back Wooden
Coaster that towers along the edge of the park's property. With some
basic theming, the premise is just to enjoy the ride, and hang on
tight, because this Bandit is known to get out of control. If you're
not up for the high speeds and bumps of "Bandit", you can enjoy the
smaller, "Gold Rush" family Mine Train, found in the middle of the
Junction. There's also the "Sante Fe Mining Co.", one of the world's
tallest freefall attractions, reaching speeds of up to 75 miles per
hour. Western Junction is also the only area in the park that features
its own transportation throughout, using the "Western Junction Train
Depot".

Lost Heritage
- RRP
Next stop in NE's Chateau Lake, is the much more modern Lost Heritage
themed area. Constructed by the genius engineer RRP aka "rctrealpark",
and molded after the entrance area of his legendary upcoming park, "Sea
World Atlanta". The rides are magnificent, but the theming and
architecture are the highlight of Lost Heritage, an area that loosely
correlates with a patriotic, American feel. Here you'll find the park's
other wooden coaster, "Great American Screamer", modeled after his NE.
Lost Heritage is also a flat ride haven, after a 2002 purchasing deal
with Huss Rides to acquire the latest and greatest flat rides into the
Lost Heritage area. You'll find the "Terroriser" (Top Scan),
"Submission" (Air Jumper), and the newest ride in the park:
"Cliffhanger", a three tower S&S Complex using the latest
technologies. You'll also find the amazingly popular 'Journey into the
Deep' show, that has wowed parents and children alike for the past few
years. With so much to do in Lost Heritage, you better stop reading
this and go enjoy it!

American Pastimes
- aero21
The oldest area in the park, devoted to patriotism of our fine country,
you'll find some of the most classic rides in the park in this area.
Most notably, you\'ll find "Mr. Sinister", the Arrow Multil Element
Coaster that was purchased the first year that New Element Parks took
over Chateau Lake. An excellent, intense coaster featuring tons of
inversions, a great setting, and usually pretty low lines. You\'ll also
find the first ride ever constructed in Chateau Lake, "Tidal Wave", a
classic Shuttle Loop model, one of the few left in operation today. If
you wondered where all the lines were in American Pastimes, you might
want to check "Timber Creek Logging". Nothing better to do on a hot,
100 degree Arizona afternoon then hop in your own log, and get
drenched. Featuring a great scenic course, before eventually letting
off onto an exciting 30 mph drop. The ride also utilizes the newly
installed Rotating Station, to decrease waiting.

Red Rocks Valley
- Coaster Ed
The most popular area of NE's Chateau Lake Amusement Park has proven to
be "Redrocks Valley". Once thought to be inhabitable canyon-property
next to the theme park, New Element parks pulled some strings, acquired
the services of Coaster Ed, and together went to work on transforming
the ugly duckling into the park's premier area. The home of the park's
most highly acclaimed coaster, "El Ranchero", a B&M Sitdown Looping
Coaster, with an excellent ride layout, as it soars above and even
through the legendary red rock canyons. Here you'll also find the
park's second water ride, "Snake River Falls", a 'super-flume' as we
like to call it, featuring a very exciting, and faster paced course
then you might expect. Explore the canyonlands, and plummet down
countless drops while getting soaking wet. Next up, "Sundance
Shootout", one of the more technilogically advanced rides in the park.
Here, you can hop aboard your spinning saddle, and get ready for the
most intense gun fight of your life. Using various members of the New
Element Community as targets, you're in for one of the most fun
experiences you'll ever have. Redrocks Valley is also the home to some
various, unique family rides. The Round-Up, and more importantly,
"Bucket Shuffle", which seems to just be moving on it's own!

Dawson Village
-
Corkscrewed
The final area of the park, constructed by Corkscrewed (who also built
the great park entrance). Only home to a few attractions, but these
attractions are actually the longest in the entire park. First off, the
award winning "Dawson Pony Express", an adventure mine ride that
combines standard Mine Train with adventure coaster, bringing one of
the best overall experiences in the world. Starting off with a standard
coaster layout through woods and ponds, you'll then make your way back
into Dawson Village, and actually travel slowly through the town. In
the third portion of the ride, you'll reach back into the woods, way
beyond what the eye can see, and venture into an abandoned mine.
Definitely an attraction you don't want to miss (Check out that
Trick-Track by the waterfall!!). The second attraction here is the
final water ride of the park, "Dawson River Rapids", a long, enjoyable
rapids ride, and a great way to lower your temperature on one of these
Scorching Southwest days. I hope you enjoyed looking through Chateau
Lake, New Element's 5th completed Group Park.
