As a secondary treat to those who downloaded by debut park, "Troy's Ancient Adventure", also came with it a sort of 'unrecognized' NE Collabo as the resort map to my mythological resort. Now, don't think I didn't put a lot of work into it, because I contributed more then anyone else on this map, but I felt that it would be nice for everyone to get a chance to see the world's best parkmakers with a chance to be creative with water rides and other unusual type of things that you wouldn't normally see in a theme park. So, I put together a complete all-star cast of performers to help me with the waterpark, and it really came out magnificently. Contributions came in all shapes and sizes, from everyone including: Harakiri, RRP, Natelox, x-sector, vTd, Fatha' Grinch, NeViS, PyroPenguin, and Evil WME. There are four magnificent hotels located throughout the Sunken Retreat property, tons of waterslides, and some really crazy one of a kind rides that you definitely don't want to miss. I'm proud to have this as part of my resort.

Pacific Utopia - RRP
Follow through the OctiSlide Plaza and make your first right, and you'll find yourself in a beautiful, unique "whole 'nother world", where there are several rides you can choose from. RRP made this area right after he made his famous (and still unreleased) pirate area in Sea World Atlanta, and used the same schemes (Black roofs/Wooded Walls). The giant crab located in the middle island of Pacific Utopia became one of the most popular things in all of Troy's Ancient Resort, let alone the Pacific Utopia. Great custom hacking job. Now, as amazing as the Giant Crab is, "TreasureQuest", is the primary attraction here, a one of a kind "one and done" liquid coaster that features the most recognizable 90 degree drop in the world, as it dumps out from a large mountain, and then scrapes down a frozen waterfall and through over 15 rings of Mist Sprayers getting you even wetter in the process, then fly through a waterfall (guarenteed to get you soaked). Then you'll encounter the giant crab firsthand, as you actually fly through it's EYES! A very relaxing lazy river around the crab is also available, as are some "warm-up" slides in the form of "Mystery Dips". |
Incan Floodlands - vTd
I'm not sure how I convinced one of the harder-to-budge parkmakers, vTd, to take time out and put some work into Troy's Sunken Retreat. Yet, he agreed to take part, and ended up creating the nicely engineered "Incan Floodlands". Tons of different types of rides to choose from all throughout the area, including waterslides, jet-ski racers, and a crazy indoor wet-n-wild mad house! As for the slides, you have "Legend of the Great Flood" and "Golden Kuzco" to choose from. You can also check out the "Inca Racers", a one of a kind racing adventure through the Incan canals where you and a buddy can blast top speed on some of Kawasaki's most up to date jet skis. And don't forget to check out the "Incan Mad House", where all sorts of surprises await. You'll also get a nice, tasty preview of "Element", as the coaster's giant red loop sticks out of the jagged Incan rocks. |
Sunken Everest - Natelox
Next up, the second of the Sunken Retreat Twin Peaks, "Sunken Everest", the rustic, gloomy mountain engineered by the dark geniuses of Murder Inc. This particular section of the waterpark houses more slides then any other, and none are more exhilirating then "Cinder Cone", a side by side gigantic 145 foot waterslide (making it the world's tallest!!). If that's not enough for you, check out "Caldera", the very unique Giovanola prototype stand-up coaster that only lasts for about 30 seconds, but it's definitely one of the most thrilling 30 seconds you'll ever experience, featuring 90 degree drops, tight high speed helixes, and a vertical loop. Back to the slides though, there is a huge assortment of them here, all that bring something different to the table. Whether it be the winding tube-slide "Chono Lungma", the steep & terrifying "Nepal", the extreme "Devil's Dropoff", the smooth "Dormant Drop", or the one of a kind "Tunnel Vision" which sends riders into a tiny pool before a wave of water throws them off the edge, forcing them to fall freely into the lake below! |
Cold Water Beach - x-sector
Cold Water Beach is home to two of the most extreme attractions at Troy's Sunken Retreat. First off, the winding Premier LIM Coaster "Element", which snakes its way through Cold Water Beach, Incan Floodlands, and even through parts of the Diamond Head Hotel. The ride starts with an unexpected 65 mph launch through straightaway launch cables, before dipping underground (for the first time) to resurface and nail a giant vertical loop situated in the Incan Floodlands. A beautifully placed barrel roll comes next, only 12 feet above the midway below before tyou fly through some Diamond Head buildings, and come out the other end to perform a overbanked turn before a 90 degree spire sends the riders thru the same course backwards! There's also "Extreme Surfing" where you better hold on tight because you're gonna be riding three ultra waves, all while in the precarious standing position. There are also a few different water slides to choose from as well. |
Island in the Sun - NeViS
Island in the Sun is one of the more unique, yet utopical areas of Troy's Sunken Retreat. The giant sailboat harbored here is a great example of that, (and its still the only boat of that kind seen in RCT). There is lots to do here, including taking a interactive tour of the sailboat, as you can even get an up close look at a shark attacking! There's also "Cliff Jumping", another small prototype ride where you get to grab your surfboard, and attach yourself to a bungee as you're about to dive freely over the side of a cliff and do some uncontrolled surfing! The beautiful buildings and thatched-roof huts are all filled with great places to buy merchandise and eat, and there are countless beaches where you're free to just relax and soak up a tan. Definitely has an atmosphere all in it's own. |
Elsgora Evil - WME
Elsgora is one of the darker areas of the Sunnken Retreat, and comes are way thanks to Evil WME. Take a walk through the midway, as cannon shots explode all around you, with water cannons situated on both sides of the walkway drenching everybody below. Even better, for only a quarter, you can access these hidden cannons, to "shoot down" unknowing strangers as they enter Elsgora. If you're brave enough, there's also a lesser known attraction at Elsgora, where you pick up your scuba gear and go exploring into the coral reef underwater. Still, the premier attraction here is quite obvious, the "Black Dome of Doom", a one of a kind wooden water coaster. Several instances your wooden train will actually dip down into a large pool of water, soaking everybody. Don't think that the ride is over there though, a giant, hidden underground 50 mph first drop and one of the most terrifying vertical loops you'll ever see... |
Port Plunder - PyroPenguin
Is any waterpark complete without some sort of pirate area? I don't think so, and Troy's Sunken Retreat doesn't like to be outdone, so they went and hired the engineering genius PyroPenguin to design theirs. Only home to one attraction, which sprawls through the entire area, it's become the highest regarded attraction in the entire waterpark. "Blackbeard: Legend of the Gold", another one of a kind adventure, takes rides through a very complex storyline, and a very complex ride which including water ride portions, liquid coaster portions, target technology, and even underwater portions of the ride. The ride starts off in the peaceful town of Port Plunder, where the world's most guarded bank is held. A peaceful tour goes out of control when the most notorious pirate in the world, Blackbeard, jumps on deck and seizes control of your tour boat, along. He brings aboard 8 large bags, full of gold...so you know that you got some trouble on your hands. He tosses everyone on the raft a gun, and unless you wanna get shot, you better fire back at thoes guards! Targets are placed strategically throughout the course, and whoever gets the highest score at the end of the raft gets a Fastpass. Anyways, after escaping the city due to the keen marksmanship of all onboard, you then venture to Skull Mountain, Blackbeard's secret hideway to stash the loot. Following that, you will encounter the home of the pirates, on a deserted pirate ship located somewhere near the Bermuda Triangle. Watch out though, because your raft just collided with one of the ships, and you're going down fast! You're raft flies underground and into the first ever underwater tunnel, where you'll encounter actual waterlife, including two large sharks! Sound like fun? |
Shadow Paradise Hotel - Iris & Natelox
Out of the four hotels in Troy's Ancient Resort, the "Shadow Paradise" hotel was the first one constructed. Featuring some luxurious rooms and the cheapest prices of any Troy hotel. Also, guests of Shadow Paradise hotel get special admission to the Port Plunder area of the park (all four hotels have a special themed area accomodation) where guests can enjoy the Port for up to two hours after the park closes. A beautiful golf course is situated here at the Shadow Paradise Hotel as well, the only one on property, so guests are invited (as long as you don't embarass yourself!) to walk nine holes on our beautiful course. Also, Wimbledon style tennis courts are offered, as are pools and jacuzzies. It's also the only hotel on property that has it's own shuttle, that will transport you to any area of Shadow Paradise per your request. Guests of the Shadow Paradise Hotel will also recieve free tickets on board the Time Chaser, the advanced monorail system that takes riders all the way to the park's second hotel... |
Dark Days Inn - Iris
The Dark Days Inn, which was awarded as one of the most "unique hotels in the world" by the Travel Channel, and for good reason. A dark, gloomy atmosphere can be felt with every step on the property. Those who like to be scared will love this hotel. Secret surprises are lurking around every corner (you can opt to not particupate, just check the front desk). Trap doors are located in over 65 places throughout the hotel, and there are countless secret rooms. Check those bookcases! Guests are also invited to check the Utopian Kingdom, the hotel's own personal zoo, featuring the two most popular animals: elephants & tigers! You can't miss the "Evil Aspires Lookout", a nice lighthouse tower where anyone can go for free, where high powered lenses give people a chance to watch people all throughout the Resort (you can see as far as the Shadow Paradise Hotel!) Still plenty more though at the Dark Days Inn, as a great miniature haunted house sits under the hotel, only accessible to those renting rooms. A highly advanced recreational center is available, featuring a full blown two story arcade, pool tables, darts, and even an indoor basketball court and skate park! A beautiful "Elevated Shrub" lookout center has become one of the more photographed attractions in all of Troy. And, on top of it all, guests of the Dark Days Inn get special accomodatins at the park's Elsgora themed area! (See Shadow Paradise description for more info on that). |
Caribbean Bay Palace - Iris
The most impressive hotel ever seen proudly sits on the corner of Troy's Sunken Retreat. Known as the Caribbean Bay Palace, and for very good reason. Featuring more rooms inside then all three other Troy hotels put together, and not only that, but this hotel features significantly larger, more luxurious, and elegant rooms. Every room comes fully equipped with your own personalized "tab" for room service, and the higher you go, the nicer the rooms. The top story features beautiful lofts, with three bedrooms and three bathrooms, a gigantic kitchen area, indoor hot tub, and living rooms that are the same size as entire rooms down below. Of course, this hotel costs a pretty penny to stay out, easily the most expensive hotel at Troy's Sunken Retreat, but if you're going to have a good time, why not go all out? Guests are also invited to check out the gigantic pool (featuring several hidden caves along with the highly popular..."Pleasure Caves"). Jacuzzis, swim up bars, and diving boards are all included, as are our official sized tennis courts. And of course, the area accomodations, where guests of the Caribbean Bay Palace get to enjoy the Pacific Utopia area for up to 2 hours after closing. |
Diamond Head Hotel - Fatha' Grinch
Finally, the newest hotel on property, the "Diamond Head Hotel", situated in the brand new Hawaiian themed area of Troy's Sunken Retreat. After going solo for the first three hotels, park managers decided to buy the services of creative designer Fatha' Grinch for the construction of the Diamond Head Hotel and all of it's property. Featuring a unique L-Shaped layout, the hotel features some beautiful rooms at great prices. Each of the rooms is Hawaiian-themed, and as the hotel sits on the water, the tropical feel is really amazing throughout the entire hotel, even to the point where several balconies are offered just to enjoy the view. Then, throughout the Diamond Head property, different buildings all themed to various Hawaiian legends are offered, each featuring either stage shows, 3d attractions, walk-through exhibits, or lectures. "Pele: Goddess of Fire", "Maui: The Demigod", "Nana'ue", "Menehune: Learn The Tales", and "Home of the Night Marchers" are all included. And...Diamond Head Hotel is the only one to feature after hour accomodatins to not one, but two themed areas at Sunken Retreat! Both Island in the Sun and Cold Water Beach are presented. You can't go wrong with the Diamond Head Hotel. |
