  • This was great. This is a lot different to the normal Kumba style, and I'm glad to see a move away from the fantasy side of building to this 'semi-realism' - it really did work a treat. And the fact that it still contains a fantasy element does work well. Everything's a bit over the top - but not TOO far over the top... except Big Daddy, but I'll get to that in sec. Some of the details are great. I loved the rooftop poker table, the mini golf is exceptional, and the water park must have taken so much time and effort to get functioning that well. It'd take too long to list all the little details as there's so much good stuff there.

I think Brainwash is just about as good an attempt at a Proslide Tornado that you could make on RCT, but I think it might have worked a bit better had the pre- and post- funnel segments been a little simpler, and not criss-cross past the funnel... it would have looked a little less messy. I didn't like Big Daddy, for the most part. I liked the scale of it. I think the concept of this type of ride on this map was fine. But the problem was that it went that little bit too far, and went from 'good over-the-top' to slightly TOO far. The inversions and twists and so on all seemed a bit too much. I think you should have just stuck to a big drop really, kind of like an Arrow Fish-hook coaster concept perhaps. It was just a bit too much and was too much 'fantasy' for this map.

All in all, therefore, I think a Gold is a fair score. There's a lot of really great stuff on this map, and I only have a few gripes. It also has a spark - a really unique feel. I much prefer this to all your previous work and will look forward to seeing some future releases, perhaps along similar lines. Good job.
  • I like this. It doesn't quite have the blow-your-socks off factor, but it is really nice, 'clean', and good to see something a little different from your run-of-the-mill B&M coaster. I actually thought the layout was great - it looked like a fun ride. The opening loop combo surrounding the top spin worked nicely and I liked how the ride juggled travelling over the lake with travelling over the adjacent land. And it saves its best bit for last, with a really strong finish. If I'm being picky, it may be a little intense for the rider, but meh, it works.

Echoing other people's comments; I like your style: detailed and realistic without ever being over-the-top... it works well. Likewise, there is no doubt here that the ride is the star... but everything else supports it nicely. As for any criticisms - as I say, it's unique in that it is your take on a different, un-traditional RCT ride type. This is no B&M looper. But I still think it just lacks some spark or creative flair - something really different and novel to elevate it from a solid, 8/10 nice design to something more like a 9/10!! Congrats though!
  • Just thought I'd post a couple of sketches - one is for the Overdrive roller coaster in my Magic Realms park, and the other is for my upcoming design project... which WILL be completed as soon as I get my University Finals exams out of the way!!

  • I do like the Log Flume screen a lot - just introduce a few full-tile land-blocks, rather than a mass of quarter-tile ones... just to break it all up a bit, and it'll look perfect.
  • Second screen is amazing.
