I had to cut an entire tree to see this, a well hidden eating place, I just love the entrance.

I's one thing to do a custom bathroom, but to separate the etrances for men and women! Also notice the high ventilation 'windows'.

A not working slide, but still he gives thought the waterflow!

How brilliant! A working slide that goes down, and then back up again through a golftrack!

Really liked this wavemakers, how you took care for safety fences, and even created the waves!

No clue what it is, but I like it anyway. But ehm, what is it? An almost erupting vulcano or something :p .

Phatage, i am actually enjoying this park more everytime i go back and look at it. There is a hell of a lot of work in this, and now i understand why its #1. All the coasters.. everything in the park has something about it different from the norm, for me, this tops Epica.

ps:- the woodies length is fine, if anything, i reckon woodies in rct2 are always depicted to be too long in comparison to those in real life anyway. And again... congrats on the win!

*mugs phatage in the street to get $100, then realises that $'s are useless in my country anyway*

Havn't really had a chance to comment on all the entries yet.... But just as an overall, they were all very nice and well done do actually entering everyone.

I look foward to the next competition.

One of the most brillant subtle ideas. If yall look closer at the lazy river he has little whirlpools that are volcanic motion thingies that move the water in a certain way to keep the lazy river on track. I thought it was an awesome little touch to actually have the volcanic tube come out on the side of the map. Best park ever.

    I didn't notice that.

Oh yeah, and thanks Fatha for changing my member title. I'm pretty sure it was you.

Corky, thank you for that post, it also reminded me that I forgot to post mine about your park, which will come later when I'm able to put it up.  Anyways, I'm very perplexed about people's feelings on the Ghostown Showdown.  I do understand the fact that the duration is rather short, and yes that was due purely to space limitations, but I really do not see how it isn't realistic; many of its elements are taken directly from Gwazi and Lightning Racer.  Can somebody show me a pic that may clarify this for me?

I think the overall constricted layout made it seem that way. You had a lot of steep turning double direction segments that seemed a little awkward the way you made it, and that might have been what contributed to it.

Although in retrospect, it actually looks a bit more like Twisted Sisters, so oh well.

How brilliant! A working slide that goes down, and then back up again through a golftrack!

Done in SF WoE... by Phatage. ;)

Okay, I'm pulling this from the "Little Things" topic to try and keep it a bit more organized.

    Busch Gardens Sydney

I absolutely adore this park. Sure it was a bit cramped and it was hard to come to terms with that especially because my own style is very laid out neatly. But the people who complain about this park being cramped are just too lazy to do the work that requires you to find all of the gems hidden in this park. The park sets out exactly what it is to do and with the space that it had, did it exceptionally well.

(Some of these might have been mentioned already, but like I said most of the pics from older parks are totally dead.)

    Onwards to the shots:

I love the use of land blocks here as tents.....it compliments the perfectly executed atmosphere. Also notice the blocks built over the log flume to add realism, and the bobsled piping under it.

    Posted Image

As if the perfectly executed Intamin transfer track wasn't enough....sloped magnetic brakes were added.

    Posted Image

I believe most people overlooked this back when PT2 was going on. Notice how the launch track has the "groove" for added realism where the catch car would slide to attach and launch the train. Simply done by adding the cable lift and then taking it out to keep the affect it has on the track behind it. The only downside to this is the fact that using the Intamin Tri-Track makes for a not so pretty merge with the Impulse track below it. But it just works perfectly in this screen due to the crowded section of the park, it's hardly noticeable.

    Posted Image

Just an ordinary brake run right? If the extended spine wasn't enough....take a real close look here......what is that? Hacked on diagonal brakes for added realism?

    Posted Image

Removing the track indicates it is....simply amazing...a hack nobody would ever notice, but it's added just for the sake of realism.

    Posted Image

This inverted coaster might be the best layout I have ever seen in RCT2....and the atmosphere and interaction between rides is incredible......this is just pure gold with the placement of the course of Denali and the Intamin rapids ride...the lift goes directly up the center of the batwing. Perfectly supported, with the extended spine for realism, and a water pump dropping water on the rapids ride.

    Posted Image

Great use of hacking on the roller-soaker track for added realism. It's just incredible that you took the time to do this especially when you were under a time restraint as it is....and yes, this is VERY tedious to do. But what I couldn't figure out is...what is with the orange water on the edge of the map? Clarification please?

    Posted Image

I love the use of land blocks here....it is just a very creative idea that adds so much to the atmosphere.

    Posted Image

This is simply beautiful to look at. The foilage on top adds so much here....it reminds me of my favorite hideaway at my home park Six Flags STL.

    Posted Image

If the hacked chain return isn't enough (very tedious) there are signs all over the coaster that stick out so the riders can read them.

    Posted Image

I just love the use of giga track to give off a curved atmosphere of the intersection between sections. It just makes the signs come together perfectly.

    Posted Image

I don't know why, but I just love the train roaring over the entrance to the area. Must add so much to the guests experience.

And this isn't all there is in this park...there is so much and the sections were pulled off extremely well. The Hurricane memorial that the train rides by, all of the wonderful flat rides, the hub less ferris wheel (Did you get inspiration from the La Qua one?), and the water park all in that tiny map. Truly one of my favorite parks ever.

Good post. I hadn't noticed the launch track thing on the rocket coaster before.

Eh, while we're at it, I may as well post the review I wrote and never posted from nearly a year ago. I don't feel like doing any editing, so I'm posting it as-is. Also, I never got around to reviewing the western area, but I'll say that I loved the multicolored canyon walls.

Sorry for the wait, but here's my more extensive review.

I instantly recognized what the colored bars on the side of the park map were supposed to be, since you mentioned something similar in my own park, though what I had was different. The escalators nearby there were lovely too. I loved how you did the banking on the log flume. I think we'll definitely be seeing that again later.

The Hawaiian area had a lot of appeal for me, especially since the Hawaiian theme has been something I've tried several times in the past. The water park part of it was a lot like how I'd hoped to eventually make the water park in the Hawaiian park I was working on. I was a bit confused about how riders would use the Mahalo Cave-slide, since it's ending it a bit fenced in, which makes it seem much less user friendly. The impression I got from it, and some of the other slides, was that the riders would get off the slide without going into a pool. The huts around the Hawaiian Leap of Faith, like the Poi Parlor, are cute and a nice realistic touch. The lazy river was perfectly done. The Roller Soaker was very well done. I don't mind the name at all. It's kind of funny, I think. I don't know what it means, though. The only long Hawaiian name I know is their state fish, the Humuhumunukunukuapua'a. Anyways, all the facets of it's operation, like the water bombs, were well taken care of.

Bourbon Street Blast was nice. It was a bit hard to appreciate due to the lag, but the details of it was excellent. I didn't mind that it was built over the path and buildings. I understand that it detracts from the Rct viewing experience, but if this was a real park I think it'd be perfectly fine, since it'd be a good use of space, and it'd add dynamics to the area. The dark ride over there was awesome. It's very cool how it goes through the buildings but is still visible to us.

The curved lift hill on Colorado River Rapids was very unusual. The ride itself was actually pretty exciting for a rapid ride, especially the whirlpool thing, but it seemed like it was a bit too short with how it just sort of petered out after the whirlpool. Still, everything up to that made up for it. The World Famous Hot Cocoa shop was really cute. It was especially nice how Denali's in-line spin went right up against it too. Is that supposed to be a quadruple diamond on top of Denali's station? Anyways, as everyone else has said, Denali was a fantastic inverted coaster.

Anyways, the park was great. If I was to make a list of all my favorite Rct parks (ignoring size restrictions), this would be one of my very favorites.
