oo finally it gets released, this thing has been going on so long, and took me so much effort and then posix who i passed it over to the same.Getting people to do their areas etc.The original plans around here i think, ill look em up

I had a look cant find it, so it must have been thrown out.All i found is notes on the last thing i ever made which is dated 20/11/03 :)

Well anyway, from what i can remember cos it was that long ago.The project was a thankyou/birthday/xmas present for iris for all the work he had put into the site (and because of recent banwidth probs i think). It started as a 1 mapper with me nevis,JS,Fatha and a few other (cant remember who) and we spent around 8-12 months on it then someone lost the file or i got a virus and lost it (something like that) so i started to replan it.By this time nevis and most of the people on the map had quit so a 2 mapper started.Map 1 with me,x,blind guardian? (i dunno the same set up as what got done for map 1).I drew out out on each map where people were gonna work and then they were restricted to that.

More people quit and couldn't finish their areas (e.g pawn, blind guardian) so i finished their areas off for them while map 2 was progressing incredibly slowly.I got bored on day and made the water park area and realised id never finish it on my own so made that part of the project aswell .Then map 4 cam in for no reason at all to add to the problems.Things were progressiing so slow, was like the worst matchup of parkmakers.Me fatha ed etc dont make things fast or regular. This is when the most time passed,so i handed posix leadership somewhere in there and he helped get most of it organised and done. Then we told iris about it since people (like me) didn't want to finish their areas as a final ditch to get the parks completed (which was about a year ago :p) and here we are now.

basically this was one pain in the add project to finish since it took so long and about 30 people had to be redrafted as people retired or got bored. It taught me the amount of effort (or luck) iris must put into these group parks to get a decent outcome, and that i wont ever try something like this again.ever.

sorry i got shorter and shorter, haver graphics work to do :)

This came out of know where.

Hey RRP....figured now'd be a great time to thank you for this brilliant idea. I was really blown away when you guys let me in on the secret. I think if you guys were able to pull this off completely and really surprise me, it would have been my favorite moment ever with the RCT community. Just planning it out really showed me how much you guys appreciated everything, and made me feel a lot better about running New Element. I really don't know anyone other then posix or RRP who could pull something like this off completely...getting ALL the parkmakers to do this (well at least commit to it) and keep the entire thing a complete secret. It's a shame nobody tries to do things like this anymore, and it just proves how great an asset you guys are/were to the community. Thanks again guys.

    MY MISSION: BUY LL ASAP!

Its parks like this that really want me to get on the LL bandwagon, plus I need a change from RCT2.

Okay, someone explain how it turned into a log.  Really, I have no idea how the theory for that can go, so I'd like to know.

You think thats fishy, try messing with the hartline twister transfer... ah nm... :p

Im gona need to check this thing out on my carppy LL computer, witch means removeing parts from my good RCT2 computer and swaping just to get it running... sould be worth it tho :)

    Wow, this is incredible.

So many great names brought together to create what im sure would have been the perfect collabo.
    Even un-complete it's still amazing.

I miss the days when LL reigned supreme, I just wish some of you guys were still playing.

Also, very well done on organising what is there to even get done.

LL would still reign supreme if some of you (RRP) still played the game, and if some of you would finish things at the rate you used to (Natelox, Ed, etc). WME really blew me away here though, his area is the best in the whole thing imo. The way it was made was amazing and the "Wish You Were Here" banner made my day.

Now if only we could get RRP back to play like he did here... damn....

It's impossible. As I'm sure everyone knows...I'm a huge fan of people like Kevin and Phatage, my 2 favorite parkmakers at the moment. I used to be obsessed with Nevis & Fatha's work. I even believe Mala is the best parkmaker of all time. But I was never a bigger fan of any persons work then RRP, and you can bet I did everything in my power to get him to finish all the work he did (and was unsuccessful most of the time...I still posses many beautiful unfinished works that are better then 99% of the finished stuff today).

He was the most talented ever imo.

Wow, this park reminds me of how amazing LL can be. I can't really go into detail since I don't have LL installed, but the screens look incredible, especially that first one.

Lovin' all the warm fuzzies going on around here.

ah thanks a lot iris, i would still play rct but its not like it used to be here or at any other site.As most people know i built stuff that was pleasing to my eye and was enjoyed by as many people as possible (however long it took, too long).Theres just not enough people around nowadays to appreciate all the time and effort put into a park. Its still good to here someone enjoying something you made for them to enjoy.

This is the main reason i started doing graphics over rct.I just see it as another cycle, ever improving and being more innovative while trying to impress and please as many as people as possible on the way.Graphics are what rct used to be,a place for the aesthetically beautiful but with a larger fanbase.

besides i dont have the time to waste on rct anymore,id rather waste it on something which may be useful later on in life

Wow, people keep churnin' out these LL parks still - WICKED.
What to say, what to say...
RRP's "Quantum" was fucking amazing... I loved the launch - very creative, and some of those custom supports looked great too.
Fatha's given me yet another beemer to blatantly stare at for frigging ages at how well it's designed (aside from the brownishness).
I wasn't too keen on posix's coaster, but maybe that's because I'm not a fan of the steel coasters, due to the fact that they look a bit dated, but a nice atmospheric area all the same...
Natelox's area was pleasant, yet although alot of others liked the idea, I just don't think a wooden lift on a liquid coaster look right - though it does fit in with the rest of the landscape better.
My fave area is X-Sector's though - anicely created waterfall teamed with great "wild" landscaping and a great Mine Train -

Overall - a good park to add to my collection.

Dude, might I point out to people that this is something of a circular pattern? The great LLers lose interest in playing as much as they used to because there are less people to appreciate it (perfectly respectable), therefore there is less LL work churned out and the number of LL fans diminishes further, discouraging LL players even more from continuing. As much as I would like it to happen, it's doubtful that more people will randomly start appreciating LL again. The effort to end this vicious cycle has to come from the parkmakers.

And even if the gratification from others' appreciation might not be there as much at first, I bet that new work will gain just the same sort of respect over time. Look at Cajamarca, it is already gaining a lot even with the match just over.
  • RRP%s's Photo
true but you gotta appreciate that things die out over time, you cant make people play something they enjoy, nor can you force people to play something outdated and old.

Share the secrets, Oh Ed #2!! :D

Actually if you ask Ed about roughly 50% of his complicated ride hacks were done with advice from WME. :p

He was the most talented ever imo.

    amen to that iris.

everybody says i build like posix or schuessler, but if i had to pick one parkmaker who's had the biggest influence on me, it would undoubtedly be rctrealpark.
