Wow, no idea where you came up with this.

Very nice park. Felt as though it was modern (peep-friendliness, level of hacking) and oldschool (design choices) at once. I liked it.

Nice use of virginia reels by the entrance, later became a bit repetitive. Really liked your custom rides. Especially Moser. Haven't seen that ride done like this in LL.

Very charming. Felt a bit empty and old-school. However, parts of it were definitely more recent too. Created a very interesting dynamic that was in many places aesthetically pleasing, but in many other places a little unsettling or off-putting. Not entirely sure why. Either way it was very enjoyable to look through, and it accomplished it's goals very well. Nothing particularly mind-blowing, but everything was fun and enjoyable.

This was really fun, one of my favourite LL pieces. a bit simple but the peeps brought so much into it

I think a park this unrefined shouldn't win Silver, but the panel has decided otherwise. Fair enough, there was a lot of good stuff anyway. A few cool layouts and cool ideas, peeps, and thank god it's a full scale LL park! An actual park! My favourite area was the entrance area. Not because it's so good or unique, because it wasn't, but because it looked finished. The Schwarzkopf and Vekoma kiddie looked horrible on the other hand. I wish you'd taken 2-3 more weeks to revisit these weak areas. Just making better stations would make a lot of difference already. I like the area around the S&S Sky Swat quite a lot as well, it's the most aesthetically pleasing area in the park. Shame it's so small.

All in all, a good park though with a lot of unused potential. You've got the outlines of a very memorable park, but you didn't finish the job. No problem, I know what you were doing with this which I encourage, but it's a pity anyway. I'd like to see you doing this again: build a park in 1-2 weeks, BUT this time when you've finished the park you tear down the weakest parts and rebuild them. Upgrade every area. If you do it incremental there's no fear of not finishing the park.

    Congratulations on Silver.

The layout is so similar to Six Flags Santa Fe, especially the entrance. You have a psyclone woodie, spinning wild mouse, boomerang, and the front entrance plaza laid out almost the EXACT same. With that said, I really like this from the overview.

I think its a great park. The visit made a lot of fun.
You included some really nice hacks and the peeps do wonders. Some parts felt a bit sloppy and unrefined but its still a nice show of your parkmaking skills.

    Congrats to the accolade!

I love this for its realism and its great planning. I honestly find it hard these days to appreciate parks that are badly planned where the builders have made weird choices that I don't understand. This, albeit minimalistic, has the planning level of a spotlight park. You could've easily made this better though had you just tried a little harder...but I think that's obvious, it seems to me like you wanted to finish a big realistic park without having to take a year for it and therefore didn't care about the minimalism...that is perfectly fine if you ask me but that's why it only won silver. Lots of potential with great layouts and nice ideas, just not very refined.

PC - The woodie isn't a psyclone layout and the wild mouse isn't a spinner, however, I was waiting for someone to notice that lol. At the time of the entrance and woodie being built, they were built in a very basic form a year or so ago, I can't say that I wasn't inspired by how SFSF's entrance was laid out. The layouts in that particular area I believe stand alone and aren't inspired by any other layout in RCT.

With this park I just wanted to finish something, and have fun at the same time. It's funny how for me, Codex is incredible in how it changes the way you can build things, it's incredible what you can make with it, however it ruins all the enjoyment of LL for me. As soon as I open Codex to do intricate bits of work I find it tedious and just want to get rid of it. Which is why I didn't use Codex in this except to make it peepable.

The park is by no means memorable, but I don't think many parks or designs are memorable nowadays, the only ones that are are those like Kumba, or Dreamport or Lenox Mall. Everything built inbetween these 'stand-out' parks are forgetable, so I don't see the problem with this being one of those.

I hope this addresses everyone's comments above. Keep the feedback coming, it's great to hear it.

Overview is interesting, but i'm not able to look ingame ,no LL. :(

Fisch - I'm glad someone realises how well planned out the park layout is. Often I look through parks and find that everything is quality, but the park layout just doesn't make sense. I tried to create a realistic park layout that was incredibly strong. I myself have never managed this before, so I'm happy you think it's decent in that way.

It looks odd how there is next to no trees against the paths.

Concept-wise it's an oustanding park alright, but execution-wise it felt just a tad tóó sloppy and minimalistic to be enjoyable. There just wasn't much ''variation'' throughout the park, and the virginia reel started driving me insane after 20secs of looking at it.

On the upside, I loved those woody layouts, very nice. Also really like the park structure / planning.

It feels like a high bronze to me, being for the coasters, the fun factor in this and the park planning. But hey, I'm not a panelist anyway right? :p

P.s. I lóve that logo. :) So simple, but it suits this park so much.

I really like this. Really. To me this is a gold park. LL realism has always fascinated me, the amount of creativity that goes into making a solid LL realistic park. Just felt the coasters were executed well, and the archy was fantastic. The GCI and the whitewashed classic woodie were probably my two favorite coasters in the park. Maybe too much VR, as everyone pretty much said. But I dig it. Probably would've given this a 75 if i were on the panel. Good shit louis, this is one of my favorites this year.

Eh, I thought this was full of codex. Well, by my definitions, it probably still is.

Anyhow, I totally agree with you. The main reason I don't play anymore is because I don't enjoy all the tedious hacking. With my experience I have many ideas how to design something in a cool way in RCT, but the hacking it takes is just too inconvenient and I don't enjoy doing it (even just zero clearancing...).

I loved this! one of the better realistic parks I've seen in LL. great layouts, cool landscaping, and some pretty decent atmosphere and custom rides and whatnot. Is the entrance of the park supposed to be incredibly similar to SFSF? There were a couple spots where you'd gotten rushed or sloppy and left scenery or rides where they're pretty clearly not meant to be but for the most part I am very impressed by your speed with this. A very solid silver!

there's nothing stopping you from doing non-codex work.

no disrespect, posix, but it sounds like you have these ideas and are just too lazy to translate them into the game. nobody is forcing you to use codex...

    unless...

you are admitting that codex-ed parks are now the standard, even through your eyes.
  • Louis!%s's Photo
I think codex opens up a new realm of ideas and possibilities, and allows for a better translation of ideas and concepts from your mind to the game. But I think you can still translate those ideas and concepts into the game without the use of codex.

Codex is now a standard of LL parks, a high one at that, but I don't think that it is the standard.
  • posix%s's Photo
You can call it "lazy". I just don't think I should have to go through a lot of messy work that's not enjoyable to me just so I can create my ideas. That's not my definition of having fun with a game. I'm of course very used to building objects through or on top of each other, so my creativity when limitations are set to "no hacking at all" is underdeveloped and weak. Hence I think in the "with hacks" world. There, I just don't find it a nice experience to switch windows between trainers and RCT, click through menus with great concentration so as not to lower the fraction of a diagonal track piece of my ride which would otherwise error trap everything ...
