Hey all. Congratulations one more time to Butterfinger for his
awesome triple mapper, Universal's Caribbean Seas Resort, which took the spotlight this round. Now for the three runner-ups who came close (one coming really close). I think that one of the runner-ups may pose a big debate just like last week's "Mega Runner Up" Disneyland Mid-America did, but who knows. Congratulations to Pawn, OZONE, and Mike Robbins for their parks.

    I cant download Illusion Isle.

I think that Emperor of the Forgotten Realms is the best hidden park right now. Daemon and Nazca were Insane rides.
  • Themeparkmaster%s's Photo
Daemon and Nazca where to totaly sick coasters and are two of my all time favs. Totaly amazing. But what the fuck was going on with that steel twister in between the awseome woodie and Daemon? It totaly sucked, that was a major downfall in this park. You could have also finished the story line and included it with the park. But, you had to rush and in my opinion it cost you the spotlight.

My new task in life is to make a coaster more insane then Daemon for BS, it will happen, along with a story line.

Anyway, great job Pawn, some things sucked but others totaly blew me away.

I would comment on Illusions Isle, but as Genx said you cant download it yet. As for Magnolia Gardens...lets just say I dont play RCT2.

I personally found the coasters a lil too slow on Emperor of the Forgotten Realms. Apart from that the coasters were wicked. A great park overall but I gotta agree with TPM about the steel twister. Can't get Illusions Isle and Magnolia Gardens was also a great park. Smashin parks though!

    :w00t:

I really want to see Illusions Isle. I am going to take a look at Emperor of the forgotton realms now. Lets hope it lives up to its name. It looks great from screens so, off I go. Get that file uploaded Iris, I wanna download that park.

Wow, really wonderful runner-ups here by the looks.

EMPEROR OF THE FORGOTTEN REALMS: One of the most innotave and creative parks I have ever seen. The themeing was just so different and glides away from traditional style so much, I love it. Such great creativity here. Daemon has got to be the wierdest (and one of the best) coasters I have ever seen. That entire section is just so different. If the entire map had been filled with things instead of having the big lake taking up much of the space, this might indeed have overtaken me from spotlight (which is very scary indeed..... my park that took 3 months of immense work being beat by one that took about a month). Anyways, wonderful job Pawn, and I hope to see many creative things like that from you in the near future.

ILLUSION ISLE: Looks awesome from the screens. Get that D/L fixed Iris! :)

MAGNOLIA GARDENS: Wow, this to looks like an amazing park... very unfortunate that I cant download it due to my non-existant RCT2 cd. Darn it, hurry up Christmas!

    Congrats to everyone :birthday:

    Sorry bout that.

    WHAT?!?!?
It took you three months to make that tripple mapper! Holy Shit.
Cove took me 8! Horizons took me 6!
    Fuck fast parkmakers!

BTW, nice Runner Ups. Pawns park was brilliant.

Yeah, but if you knew how much time I spent on that park every day you would probably goggle at me like a deformed radioactive mutant Platypus from an unknown planet out in the far reaches of the Universe, with the power to levitate at will and blast pnuematic lasers out of its nostrils. And yes, I know I need counseling.

But seriously, we are talking between 1 and 3 hours a day on weekdays, and between 5 and 6 hours on weekends. I worked the hell out of myself to get that park done.

ILLUSION ISLE: My first immpression was WOW. The themeing/architecture/landscaping here is SUPERB. The themeing in general is just so solid and astheticly pleasing. I also love the bright atmosphere, wonderful job on that. There are problems though of course. First of all: 3 steel twisters? That is just way to much. I'd say you need to put a lot more variation into the coaster lineup. The coasters themselves could use a bit better layouts, and dont have so much of them underground. However, the wonderful look of everything in this park overrides the little problems in the coasters. Great job overall..... I feel you have a very bright future here at NE.

That's nothing dear Platypus. I've been known to play RCT(2) for ten hours, non-stop on a weekday.
  • Butterfinger%s's Photo
Right, but try doing that every week for three months ;)
  • mantis%s's Photo
There's a difference between spending ages playing rct and producing loads, and spending ages but making like....two buildings.

I took an hour to decide on a layout for an outdoor show yesterday. Another 2 hours to make it. I took 40 years to complete Rishadan Port in TI, and it turned out...well.....*ahem*

EOTFR is a fantastic park save the shitty beige twister and Daemon. No, I lie, Daemon is fantastic. The Boxed loop is the best hack since....the AG. I think Nazca is good, but could have had a little more interest in the backwards section. Like some explosions. YEAH!

I've just d/led Illusions Isle, so i'll get back to y'all (oh dear) on that one.

I'll have to load RCT2 to look at MG, and I hate the loading times. HATE THEM.

    -----------------------

Illusions Isle is....damn.....fantastic. Lovely. Creative genius. Who gives a shit that there are three twisters, they are all great. Those woven awnings are just :o and the woodie is fantastic. How the hell can you finish something that good in 30 years? Amazing. Parkmaker. Now!
  • Roberto Roboparks%s's Photo
Damn, I was hoping to get first RCT2 park with Pike Creek. Guess it wasn't good enough, or a few days too late. Oh well, I'll get back with the parks soon.

I downloaded Illusions Isle and it was beautiful. The woodie had a great layout but the speed could have been improved a bit, tiny bit slow in places. My favourite part was the Aztec Egyptian part that was what really made me look forward to the park. And it was great seeing it after I downloaded it there was some great architecture there. Anubis was very nice, I liked the way the supports were all in a row instead of gaps between them. The name could have been improved though because you should have known that Mike Robbins 1st survivor entry was named Anubis. Oh well its not the name that counts. Atlas was a nice coaster, I liked the cobra roll but the coaster was maybe a tiny bit too short, had a nice colour scheme. Athis was a good coaster but it was next to Atlas, which was bad because they are very similar to each other. Curse wasn’t anything special in my opinion. On the buildings around Curse though I really liked the archways using the Virginia wheel, that looked very impressive.

Overall it was a lovely park.
    Good Job Ozone.

Honestly, it's odd that EOTFR won the exact same award as Ozone's park. I mean, to me, they were worlds apart. Are the hidden parks ranked in Iris's opinion, or just all placed there.

Emperor was one of my all time favorite parks. Holy shizzle at that launched coaster...the "mirage" section owned me in a serious way.

Ozone's park was "nice", with Anubis really sparking my interest with a cool layout and nice supports. The theming and architecture was substandard, and the two steel twisters bored me. Cool woodie tho.

Magnolia was impressive, and finally a Mike Robbins park that I don't dislike. "Hidden Park" tho? I dunno. To me , Hidden park should be better than "nice". Maybe this disqualifies Paradise Falls, but hey, it's kinda odd that NEAR spotlight parks like Emporer and parks that are far from spotlight like Ozone's win the same. Mike's park had some crappy dueling flyers, the lowlight of the park...but the water rides seemed excellent IMO. The steel twister in the middle was okay, but underthemed it seems. The architecture was surprisingly refrshing and un-mike robbinesque. Overall, I got mixed vibes, and I've seen several better RCT2 parks that could have been more deserving for this award. Oh well, Iris picks em, his site.

Overall...EOTFR was seriously close to spotlight worthy, good luck to TPM...I can see several paralells between this and Burning Secret...both INSANE coasters, similar architecture, and both with a great storyline. Anywho...Ozone's was okay...and Magnolia was "nice". But, still the best Mike Robbins park to date.

I think that's why EOTFR was "Super" runner up, while Magnolia and II were runnerups.....

eotfr - amazing, great rides and fuckin whacky

ozones - it was a nice park with good architecture but all the rides just seemed the same to me, have a change in rides !!! too many b+m type rides in their

magnolia - i thought it was nice as it was a more realistic type of park but sum things i disliked. The fliers werent great and i disliked some of the random stuff in the park.
But on a whole a good start to ya rct2 career

EOTFR- i LOVE demon. the most awsome coaster ever. the theming was really wacked, nuthing besides demon really stood out to me, but i really liked this park

Magnolia- glad to see an rct2 park finally, good job. loved the baseball field.

thanks for all the comments on II(although i would like to see more lol) i will work harder on the coasters in my next park, or get someone to build them for me, lol. i figured that i would get posts about the three coastes being the same, but i couldnt really just go back and change it. thanks again for all the comments
