Your work reminds me so much of Kumba... This almost could've been an area in Dimensions, although there are obvious aesthetical differences. The ideas, the density, quirky theme... Very Kumba-esque. Coaster was ridiculous, and huge, but definitely not in a bad way. I enjoyed it! All in all a good design and an improvement over Nowton. Keep improving, I have high hopes for you!

edit: Why is this a spotlight submission? Doesn't seem right.

I thoroughly enjoyed this. So much random stuff, just tons of really fun detailing and crazy, off-the-wall structures. Its just so crazy and fun that I don't even mind the awkward parts, they sort of feel like part of the whole picture. I would love to see a full, semi-fantasy park from you (sort of like dimensions actually), I reckon it would be amazing. I'm gonna keep coming back to this one I reckon, I surely didn't see everything yet

I want this guy on a H2H team. the ideas are fun and phenomenal.

    Only 3 comments? Hmm.

Like mentioned above the ideas in this were great, with the ships and tanks and everything everywhere. Aesthetically it lacked a bit of cohesion but with time and practice that'll come.

Looking forward to what you have next.

    A few thoughts:

    - Sooooo much fun in this design, loaded with atmosphere

    - Funky, unique coaster for Firestorm - great to have new ideas

    - I love how the coaster goes over & under the submarine, and just in general how it is incorporated into so much of the scenery

    - Clever trackitecture in the roofs, especially the station! Wicked!

    - The waterfall coming from the mountains look wonderful

    - Just your buildings in general had so much character

    - You used a wide variety of path types, but made them work so well in each designated way

    - An immense amount of smart details just littered throughout the park I just can't name everything, very well done

    - Congrats in advance, as this is a shoo-in to win a design accolade!... If I could vote 75-80%

    This is amazing.

Cant really comment on the coaster, because it´s sadly lagging like shit for me, but other than the drop right before the prezel (wich is too narrow IMO) it looks fine.

The Splashboat/Themeride is really really really good. Whoever does the nominations for next years NE Awards should have a solid candidate here. All those details anf special effects...

The Spinning Darkride is very well executed, too.

Overall the theming is just great. So many details everywhere, perfect colors and I really like the foliage because it fits the theme perfectly.

Only things I dont like is the red color of the coaster (I know it´s called firestorm, but I just cant stand that red) and the architecture is not on the same level as the rest of this design.

    80% for me.

    PS:

    @Version1:

You know, if you dont have anything substantial to say why not just keep those fingers away from the keyboard?

Why does everyone want Launched Flying Coasters to be a thing?

Why does everyone want Launched Flying Coasters to be a thing?

Because they would be awesome! ;)

Really cool submission love the atmosphere and the creativity. This is just full of fantastic ideas keep it up!

Yeah, I would love nothing more than being launched head first into the unknown

Version1, if you have nothing productive to add to the discussion, please don't.

Once I got past the funkiness of the layout I enjoyed it. Great ideas and good execution.

This park is wild, I loved it! The Kumba comparison seems appropriate - this park is brimming with crazy and creative ideas in much the same was as Scientifica. The quality of the architecture and theming is up there too, in my opinion. Likewise what let's it down is some poor composition and macro work. Too many elements are rectangular or parallel which causes some awkwardness and friction. This is particularly pronounced around the aircraft carrier (that launch however.. so inspired!)

Rides we're all interesting The boat ride was my favourite, I much preferred it to the flyer actually. All the different interactive scenes it passed through were wonderfully done. Even just the wooded area added a moody 'Apocalypse Now' feel. The finale was ridiculous. Over the top, a little ugly even, but still awesome. Reminded me of Mala's work.

Great theming and storytelling once again with 101st Airborne Assault, this is one of the best dark-rides I've seen in a while. Felt really alive and engaging with all the movement and effects. Great use of the parachute drop objects. Airplane Attack was a unique kiddie coaster to include but I wasn't a fan of the layout - it was just a wiggly rectangle and it didn't help that it ran parallel to the boat ending and the aircraft carrier. I loved the station though with the checkered roof and that unusual textured white building.

Anyway, onto the flyer! Some elements worked brilliantly - the launch, the pretzel loop, vertical loop - even the unusual dive/outside half loop. Others less so.. I thought the first half loop looked terrible. Way too rectangular. Would have been much smoother if you'd used a normal large half loop piece or just made the bottom half way smoother. I also found the ending lacking a bit - it just meandered back to the station without any interesting moments. Pre-launch felt quite winding too but I enjoyed the waterfall interactions.

I've already mentioned how much I love the theming and architecture. Some standout structures and theming elements were: The mess hall, Firestorm's station, the minefield blast sign and finally the watchtowers/walkway queue (so, so good!).

I've voted this 70. That seems odd when I don't particularly like the main coaster layout very much. The creativity and uniqueness are what did this for me though. So many wonderful ideas! Individual elements are all built to a high quality too I believe, it's just not as easy to see that because of some composition issues. Try and add more breathing space to your work and use more organic shapes in your paths and landscaping. Layouts obviously need work too - I don't wanna tell you to make your coasters more realistic, instead I'd concentrate on making them look more beautiful and flowing (they still need to be paced well of course). Nail these things and you'll be unstoppable!

I honestly don't know what to vote on this. It's cool, interesting, sure, but I found it pretty messy too. I couldn't find my way into it, even with ORCT2's x2 pixel scaling. And sadly a lot of lag and frameskips for me too.

Is the panel on holiday?  Jesus christ give the man his accolade.

A very cool design and lots of well made rides.  Kind of preferred the boat ride more than the coaster though, but that's not a bad thing at all in this case.

  • G Force%s's Photo

    Oh its a park.

  • bigshootergill%s's Photo
Congrats on the gold. Clearly this is not a park, perhaps it was submitted wrong. There's not even an entrance. Either way, great work.
  • Cocoa%s's Photo

haha yeah I also thought it was a design! lol

  • theflowdiskord%s's Photo

hey sweet, gold again, yeah not sure I got the whole accolade bit. Better read the descriptions again. Cheers for everyone's comments and ratings and back on to shambhala!
