Any time I want a wood coaster to achieve any reasonable height or length I merge it. Making a wood coaster track too long or even moderately high makes the game throw a shit fit with the ratings.

People care about the game coaster rating?... Lol.

When it becomes so high that peeps won't ride it becomes problematic.

    Unless you use Open.

cool stuff! I really like the station and the diagonal wooden awnings over the queue, and the layout was pretty classy voyager stuff. not a whole lot on the map but still quite nice

This. Nobody cares about ratings unless they get too high that peeps won't ride a ride and then you need to adjust them. This is a major issue with wood coasters.

Awesome work. Said "damn that's cool" watching the layout dive underneath the service road. Such simple execution but it works really well, can imagine myself riding the thing.

Something simple like this suits you really well. Maybe attempt a full-scale ncso park?

Thanks to the subtle changes in elevation this had great pacing throughout the ride (much like the Voyage).

    Fun stuff!

Yeh, the layout and landscaping were carefully planned. A big reason I wanted to build something like this was putting together the NE RCDB, I got curious just how big a well paced layout could be without going toooo extreme. I think the layout turned out nice.

    Thanks, Bill, Kyle, & Cocoa!

Brilliant idea to use the back of the Texas Giant sign! Coaster layout is great too.

I like the layout, especially the end with the parallel track sections. It seemed too fast paced at points though... A trim brake here and there would've been nice and probably would've fixed the ratings too. Landscape was sufficient, station area was maximally dull. 50%

Very nice layout, but that's about it. The landscaping was good but not very interesting and the station area was rather boring. I think you definitely succeeded in what you were going for but it's not design-worthy in my opinion.

I can't expand much on what others have already said, in fact I could probably just quote what Dimi said. Maybe just to add in that it's cool to build such a tall coaster and see how you can use all that speed to max out the length of the track.

The slight uphill on the out leg is a really neat trick to maintain a lot of speed in the back half. Not really much here other than a bare-bones layout, though.

A quick attempt at an old school style design, the focus is 100% on the layout. I was curious just how long a layout could be without looking absolutely atrocious, and Voyage has always had my eye so I went with something inspired by that. The rating really got out of control, especially with scenery, but it seems paced well throughout, especially for being over 7,000 feet long. Kept it NCSO for simplicity and quickness sake. All in all, the layout was refined over a few days but the scenery and landscaping was done in one sitting over a few hours. I had a blast making this, the layout was challenging but rewarding and the scenery and landscaping was built with ease
