Well after taking a few months off to enjoy the spring & summer, I decided to get this map finished over the next few weeks. Shortly after starting to get to work on the map, I hit the object limit. For some reason, 8-cars stated I had some 26,000 objects left however it was all a lie. :( That being said, I was not abel to finish the details I wanted to include in the map. This included ramps from the upper level, signage, boats, landscapping and a few buildings. Because of this, I decided to not submit this to NE for CC consideration as it is not up to my standards.

That said, It's as finished as I'm going make it.

Here are some Screenshots from the main topic

That thing was massive. As with all of your work, I really liked this. I think you should have still submitted it for CC because despite being unfinished, it does not come off that way, and you would have easily still won with this

Yeah, I also don't quite understand the concern for not submitting this. A win is a win. How could it be bad?

Won't have a chance to look at this until August but I have it bookmarked so I don't forget :)

I don't think it would have earned the CC IMO. As much as I love the CC category and I enjoy earnign them, I still have my own personal standards that I feel I need to meet before I submit anything.

Besides, there will be others that get submitted soon enough

This may sound mean, but im kinda getting to the point where i'm boared with some of this stuff. I mean, it's an awesome idea. A theme park resort with acouple of theme park maps, some hotels, other stuff, but im almost to the point where i feel like ive seen enough giant parking lots that i don't really get the wow factor anymore. May just be me....

No worries FK and I can totally understand and respect where you are coming from.

Although this may sound selfish, I still enjoy building them and that is the most important thing to me.

    Thanks though for the feedback.

I totally understand FK's point of view, even though I don't feel the same way. I love that James' projects are totally unique. His stuff has his signature all over it, nobody else's!

Thanks Todd. Whats funny is I find building non-parks (Hotels, Stadiums, transportaion hubs, Convention Centers, etc more relaxing than building actual parks. Building parks is much more stressfull because I feel I need to measure up to NE expectations/standards. I do have a clear picture in my head of what I want the park to look like but I have a hard time implementing it and I get frustrated. With these non-park maps, my work is the standard because no-one else builds them (or very few anyway) and I can apply why thoughts to the map with no stress. It may sound wierd but I'm now building things as a way to relax after a long day at work.

Again I think I'm getting a bit demented in mny old age!

What resolution do you set rct at for these builds? I've found myself going to the lowest possible resolution to simulate higher zoom.
