^There may be a runner up. Sambo is currently deciding if there will be. This will get it if there is one.

I wanted this to win and argued my case but am annoyed that no one came back to me when I continued the discussion.

I think SFB should get it as it is one of the most creative parks we have seen in a while. It uses the vanilla scenery to theme stuff that isnt a generic theme, if you get me. 5dave's was a western theme, a generic vanilla theme, where as the boardwalk was something different. Plus the trackitecture by Airtime for the bridge was awesome.
I think that the Boardwalk should surpass the Farm.
Overall I think it showed more skill and innovation than 5dave's entry. It had a more enjoyable theme and one that we don't often see. The woodie's layout was perfect as was it's pacing and the park was well backed up with other rides.
The park stretched the boundaries more than Floyd's Family Farm which was kinda the idea of having a non-cso round in the first place.

    i liked it :)
although i thought the map space was usedbadly.

also, whats the point in being "almost" NCSO? i know its the RR map or something, but, you know.

Just to make it harder, each road rally has a challenge, and this one (being the last) was the hardest.

nice job. overall i think i liked this entry more than 5dave's. nice touch with the diagonal tunnel at the end of the woody.

where are the other entries that were sent in?

Hmm, ah well. I really enjoyed working on the park, even though Oly had to continue on without me for a bit due to computer troubles. Like I said over at rctspace, time to get to work. ;)

I think they gave daves the advantage because it felt like most of the map was water. Still, this was a very good entry regardless

Thanks for the comments guys. It's always nice to read comments.

Gee I dunno where the other entrys are... I know 5dave has released his, then there was another duo and one other entry. Don't know if they've been released.

You think this is better than 5Dave's? You're kidding right? Did you look over the winning entry? I have a hard time accepting that there two people working on this entry. Not to be sarcastic, but it doesn't look like this was created by a team.

OK, San Fransisco Boardwalk was nice. But nice is about as far as it got. Nothings more uplifting to me than the peep committing suicide by jumping off a bridge, as the "opener" to a park with an American Theme. No... not really. I was pretty shocked to have seen that tho.

Is it so bad in the states that people can't wait to end their existence? OK, probably not the best point to make given the current economy. :(

Unfortunately, nothing really screams "America" to you in this park. I liked SOME of the architecture. But it's mostly mismatched. Some archy didn't seem to "belong" to the area.

5Dave's had a theme that was the heartland of the country. based upon the agricultural backbone of the country. While San Fransisco is more like the heartland of a specific lifestyle trying to achieve marrage rights.

One of the sky ride stations looked like a converted church, that some clan of hippies attacked with a few gallons of colorful paint and a basket of of hemp and a dozen packs of rolling papers.

While the station structure for Revolution looked slapped together with whatever was found laying around at the time. The custom supports/track hack for Revolution was pretty cool. I wanted to see more of that sort of thing in the park. But that's all there was. And it's all blue.

The San Francisco Cyclone didn't look that great to me. The first curve after the main drop looked warped, and rough. Which is what happens when you abruptly change from a steep incline to a shallow incline and into a tight curve. You might of done better if the curve wasn't located under the bridge, as it seems to have gotten in the way.

Unfortunately, the coaster couldn't be moved further to the edge of the property, because some "sidewalk to nowhere" seems to have taked precedent than the coaster design. Poor arrangement choice.

I mean... I could see it if a combo food court & carousel was standing there. But there was nothing that was in the way of making this coaster better, larger, thrilling and estheticly pleasing. If this was the centerpiece or your flagship attraction. You definatly lost ponts.

The name of the coaster had "San Fransisco" in it. Doesn't that name alone make you think of earthquakes more that atmospheric storms, like tornados? Aftershock, Richter Rails or Faultline, might of been more original names.

Personally, I think the bridge... while magnificent... was a waste of time & energy. Why would the state of California build a monstrous bridge to span over what amounts to a pond? OK. Also a bad example... Seeing how CA. seems to be in bankruptcy ATM. :'(

Still... Something of this size definatly belongs in a larger park. Ambitious work, but not suited for this small park and it seems to be in the way of what might of been a great wooden coaster.

Considering the water feature... I'm fairly surprised that you didn't include some sort of boat attraction, like row boats or the swans, log flume, dingy slide, or splashboats.

With a large water feature like this, you could of built a pretty massive water park. Which would of fit an American Summer theme of some sort. I'm curious as to why you didn't run with that notion.

All in all. A pretty nice park. But nothing really pushes it to the edge. It's just my opinion, but I think the judges made the right choice.

Sorry where does it state that this is better than 5dave's? No where?

If you looked there was other people mentioned in the park. Not just K0NG.

And a waterpark where do you think that'll fit? I mean then a water ride? I think some swans or any boat hire ride would seem cheap so not a log flume either. A splash boats was on the cards but then time got away from us plus nin had a few computer problems.

    Hey guys!

Overall I really liked the park, especially the Revolution! Maybe I've added another track piece, because it was really close to the edge, haha!

Also the placement under the bridge (which was a bit too much like the golden gate bridge and therefore unrealistic for the same city IMO) was really nice, that really was unique.

I also liked the Cyclone, I loved how it 'hugged' the footers on the bridge. Really nice! You really strechted the boundaries a lot more than I did in my park, I especially liked the new ideas in the archy. Really creative stuff!

But I thought there was too much water in it. Maybe a water stadium with a show would have added a lot to it.

IMO this should have been RU! You two can be proud of this!

Actually, we had been planning on doing this, complete with a fireworks show, but sadly we ran out of time.

So Boardwalk's aren't an American (summer) pastime?
Oh, and wolfman, mind letting everyone see your entry?

I didn't enter this round. You see I figured this out... if you win a RR... you can't win another, or it would knock someone else out of the finals.

I haven't figured out why they don't present second, third and runner ups. I suppose it just starts arguements, and distrust between the entrants in the judges.

I figured this out when I didn't win the New Zealand compo. I thought I was snubbed. But I was wrong. (heh, "As usual" right?) Anyway, I didn't enter. I never said I was entering, and I never submited an entry. Sambo posted a list of all entries. You should go check it out.

FUCK. Wolfly, STFU...your "logic" defies logic. You didn't win NZ because your entry was terrible as far as GETTING THE FUCKING POINT of the objectives. You wouldn't have won the one you DID...had there been any other entries.

Had I not already placed myself into the finals with H0NG K0NG, I would have probably been somewhat concerned with finishing this round. Which I am certain I would have won after seeing the other entries.

I WILL win the final...whether I get my comp back or not. The bench will be the same for all and I don't have to worry about ALL the objects I lost. Bring it on, Dave.

And, someone hand me a cold one, dammit.

I think you'll find that this is now a Runner Up.

We haven't had any runner up's all season as each round has only had 1 or 2 entries therefore not justifying a winner and runner up, but this round had 4 entries so we figured that we would present this with the runner up spot.

Congrats on getting into the finals, just remember that your finals park has to be built together too.

    Whoa-Geeze!

SOMEONE woke up on the wrong side of the bannana nest this morning!

The point is, even though my logic may be wrong, is that i'm no longer angry about the New Zealand loss. To me, THAT is more important.

I guess for you, being "right" is more important than being "happy". For fucking once, let someone live in ignorant bliss, buzzkill!

And put down that handfull of shit.
