Map Object Manipulation

What is Map Object Manipulation

Map Object Manipulation is maybe the most underrated function of the 8cars trainer. With this function you can edit actually every thing on the map, its a sort of simplyfied map controll (for the people who know the rct1 codex trainer). This tool is very usefull with bugfixing and hacking as you will see in the next part.

What can I make with Map Object Manipulation.

In this tut I’m going to explain what the map object manipulation function of the 8-cars trainer can do, and how you can change cars. The goal will be that we get a cross track with cars that can move free, if you put the right cars on it you can have something like a motor cross track. Other things we could do with the help of map object manipulation are for example the Duel Station

The first step will be to build a boat hire ride:

This is the place were the cars will leave and the guests can enter. Now we’re going to change the cars. We go to the edit ride function in the 8-cars trainer. If we chose our ride out of the list, we will see this:

Now we must change the cars. If you are wondering how those cars can move freely, that is because of the operation mode “boathire mode. This operation mode has the ability to let cars move freely (some cars at least). We change these things:

in that way we make the ride invisible (for more information see make rides invisible and put monorail bikes on it (if you’ve got the motor cross cars from buggy I recommend these cars, because they look better). We go back to rct2 to test the attraction, if you don’t change anything you will notice the cars will go over each other, this isn’t that bad but you can avoid it by putting the waiting times to 0. now we’ve put the attraction to test we will see this:

But monorail bikes on water isn’t good enough for me so we shall put ground under it. But if we just raise it with the normal raise function of rct2 you will get an error or the cars will stop moving. That’s why we must trick rct2 and let it think there is water, but see ground. To do that we go to map object manipulation to do this we first need to make the trainer know which land he needs to edit, so we give the land under water the “dirt” land:

you see there are some boxes ticked, you must tick these to and adept the other things. But first an explanation:

Map Object Manipulation

action: here you can chose if you remove the object or raise/lower them.
Raise/lower Param: here you can set the height to which it should be raised/lowered.
Object type: here you can choose the kinds of object that should be manipulated.
On land type: here you can choose the types of land were the manipulation must take place.
On Edge type: this is the kind of edge types.
Height Range: here you can chose between which heights the effects need to take place (note that the heights are in clearence, the normal base height of the land is 14)

Make sure that you don’t close this window by pressing the X in the top but close it by pressing cancel

after pressed apply that we go back to rct2 and see this:

the cars can still ride on it now, we just need to make some hills so they have some sort of track and this is the result:
