Merging (RCT2)
With Merging you can combine two diffrent or the same coaster tracks, in this way you can build loopings in coasters which normally can’t do that etc. , or you can make pieces of track invisible.
To make this hack we begin with just a normal track and the piece of track we want to merge it with (here given in another color).
To make those tracks one we need to build a segment of the other track above them in this wasy:
We build those tracks above the other track to prevent glitches, it is also possible to build them trough with zero clearence, but this will give glitches. Now we’re going to lower the pieces, we do this with the edit ride screen, but before we can do this we first need to let the trainer know which pieces need to be lowered, so we give them the Alternative Colorscheme.
We now go to the Edit Ride screen and change the height parameters and we select the colorscheme.
But when you now try to test the track you will notice an error.
This is because the “Continius Circuit Mode” needs a complete circuit to operate and you don’t have an complete cicuit at the moment. There are many things you can do now. You could raise the part where you did the merge and build a piece of track from the original coaster, than press test and lower that part and lower the merge again to his place. This way needs a lot of hacking and is only usefull if you really need a contius circuit mode (for example if you want to use a junior coaster with more trains and only a really small track). Most people cover this with changing the Operating mode to “Powered Launch Mode” , this way only allows you to use 1 train. So we will use the “Boat Hire Mode” which allows more rains (as many as fit the station). So we change that:
The only problem with the boat hire mode is that the car can’t crash so you really need to make sure you did the merge right. So in most cases I would sugest to put it to powered launch mode first and if that works than put it to boat hire mode. If you did everything right you will see this:
