Atlas Infinitum By Posix Added on Saturday, 16 June 2007
Finally, Posix makes his New Element Parkmaker debut with this absolutely incredible park, "Atlas Infinitum", otherwise known as Project FOK. The park is split into the conventional four themed areas layout, but the level of theming, architecture, and coaster design rivals that of any other parkmaker here at New Element. Featuring a very hefty contribution from Sanctuary, who actually made much of the park himself, including one entire themed area all to himself, which eventually got Sanctuary his spot in the NE Wannabe Parkmaker Collabo. So, the fan-favorite, who won the got the most votes in the "Best Non-NE Parkmaker Award", which in turn granted him his parkmaker spot, finally reveals to the general public what the fuss is all about. mantis will be the first one to vouch for this park. Also featuring great coaster contributions from fellow NE Parkmakers x-sector and Blind Guardian. Great job Posix (and Sanctuary), can't wait to see more from you guys. And, as Posix' sig says...Long Live RCT1!
This is a great shot at the architecture you can find in the Arabiyah as-Sa'udiyah area of the park, the Arabian part. The architecture in this area is stronger then in any other portion of the park. Arabiyah as-Sa'udiyah also features a beautiful golden B&M coaster built by x-sector, that goes under the name "Phaistos". As you can see from this picture, Posix knows exactly how to use different coaster parts perfectly as theming. The Virginia Reel awnings, the coaster ladders, etc. You can also see the very well placed "Ramlat" outside bumper cars. This looks like something out of a Fatha' Grinch park, maybe better, so I'm definitely keeping my eye on Posix.
Here, the western themed area of the park, known as Mount Buffalo, and the area's trademark attraction: "Boulder Rush". Boulder Rush is one of the finest mine trains I've ever seen. It breaks away from the latest trend of nearly identical mine trains and provides a great, out of control experience. It's actually quite reminiscent of Disney's Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. The western area has lots to see. Some excellent architecture as well, along with one of the best stage shows I've ever seen, The Rodeo Spirit. Great landscaping all throughout, and a great western atmosphere.
Here you can see the crazy helixes of Blind Guardian's contributed wooden coaster, "Utgardloki", a CCI monster that flies in and out of the Jötunnheim area of the park. Featuring some of the largest helixes I've ever seen, the ride just seems to fit so well in the unique themed area. The snow theme is such a hard one to perfect nowadays, yet Posix seems to do it easily. I guess having a world class, amazing wooden coaster provided for you doesn't hurt.
