Keeping the RCT2 spirit alive at New Element, is one of the best upcoming RCT2 parkmakers around, BchillerR. I'd never heard of him until seeing screens of some of his RCT2 work, and now I'm really turning into a big fan of his style. Here we see our first real example of his work at New Element, in his debut Runner-Up, Destination: Xtreme. Featuring a really fun lineup of coasters, all themed to various xtreme sports (Nevis would love this), the overall tone o the park is obvious. With ride names like "Big Air", "Half Pipe", "Slopestyle", and "Top Skater", anyone who can't see the influence in this park is retarded. Great architecture found all throughout as well, reminds me a lot of adamrct's architecture, which is definitely a high compliment. I'm still wondering why BchillerR isn't given more attention around New Element, his rct2 work is beautiful, and I've seen far less quality get much better response here.
From the first screen, you can already see how great the architecture looks. The tan coloring is very easy on the eyes, and the architectural patterns are almost impossible not to like. The coaster you see is "Big Air", a pretty standard, yet very cool Dive Machine. Note the signs along the way down of the 90 degree drop telling you how high you are. You can also see the park's beach, which is a separate admission, towards the bottom of the screen. Not to mention the park's only vertical ride: "Big Drop", a beautiful four-tower complex.
Now you see more of the amazing architecture, still with the tan theme (no, the entire park isn't that color, just this relatively large portion of it). I think the architecture in this screen is just as good as any other architecture I've seen in RCT (with the exception of ToonTowner probably, cause he's just in a league of his own). You'll also get a chance to check out the "Half Pipe" coaster, a fittingly named Impulse Coaster. Again, I can't help but notice the similarity in styles between BchillerR and adamrct, so kudos to Chiller for some excellent architecture.
Finally you get to see some difference in the tone of the park. While the architecture in the lower right hand corner of the screen is beautiful, it'll be difficult to shift your eyes from those bright blues and whites long enough to notice it. The coaster seen is "Slopestyle", a bright blue Inverted Coaster that flies through a bright blue area, really an overwhelming site when you see it. Tons of blue and white buildings make up the entire area, and the coaster seems to fit right in. Great job BchillerR, on a very successful debut, and great way to make a name for yourself in the parkmaking community, especially for RCT2.
