Who else remembers this park from Park Wars Season 1? Even after the contest suddenly ended due to the release of RCT2, Nic vowed to finish the park, and make it his farewell project in RCT. About a year later, Nic finally accomplishes his goal, so congrats to him there. And you gotta know the park is really beautiful, after all...it did WIN Park Wars! Beating out parks by Natelox and myself, Chauncey Gardner and Micool, RRP and Blitz-sama, Harakiri and Ty, PyroPenguin and x-sector, and Butterfinger's work. When Park Wars ended, four of the six themed areas were complete, although three of them were rather small in size.
The first shot shows what I think is the best area in the park, regardless of popular opinion. The snow theming was perfected in my opinion, truly a beautiful screen, one of the more beautiful screenshots I've taken in RCT. mantis did an excellent job with this themed area, including the architecture with the pointed roofs, path layout, landscaping, and the one ride that resides there: "Plateau Plunge", an excellent water ride that almost won Best Water Ride during Park Wars, until Portico Cove's "Mt. Goldrush Rapids" took that home.
Now we see a shot of the park's most popular themed area, and the area that ended up winning Park Wars for mantis and nic, Bali. Again, this is showing off mantis' work, you can see very brief glimpses of both Bali's coasters. First off, there's "Cryptic Tenoke" the dueling SLC's that sent shockwaves through Park Wars, and eventually inspired x-sector to use a similar coaster in his Valley of the Kings head2head. Also, the "Ray of Light" Stand-Up Shuttle Coaster, which fit in perfectly. The shiny paths were something not many people were doing at the time, but I think its the landscaping that really made this area. Well, that and the shininess ;)
Finally we get into some Nic T work. Although the coaster shown 'Shaka' was created by x-sector (and is the best ride in the park), the theming you see was done by Nic T himself. Great job here on the Tanzania area of the park (Nic also completed the waterslide Rhodes area of the park and the not shown Mexican area, featuring "Revolutionary", a great woody). Nic shows that he's adapted his style very nicely to the Tanzanian architecture, and x-sector's coaster backs him up perfectly. Swooping above waterfalls, barrel rolling inches away from rapids, and hitting some crazy drops and turns that you're definitely gonna wanna check out. Also included in the zip is a themed coaster called "Ranger", officially marking the retirement of Nic T as a parkmaker. We'll miss you bud, keep visiting NE!
