A very unique park indeed, from a very unique source. rctfreak2000, who has definitely improved his parkmaking with everything he releases, finally releases a full-feature project, and it's definitely catching a lot of attention over here. While the architecture is still rather boring in my opinion, and the theming can be drab in some places (and others very nice), it's the clever coaster and ride ideas that really push this park to become a Runner-Up. From racing/dueling adventure rides in one corner, to a completely different type of adventure ride somewhere else, to a hang glider type coaster, to a mantis-built merged Beemer, there is just tons of different things to try out. I also think this is the proper place to say that nagging me like he did will almost always end up in a DQ of the park submitted...just ask thorpedo2589 on that one.
This screen shows the most impressive ride in the park, the "Spirits of Xanfia" dueling adventure rides, and only the second 'Choose Your Own Adventure Ride' since PyroPenguin invented it back with Lion King: The Adventure at the legendary Disney Dreams spotlight. Spirits of Xanfia is a more thrill oriented adventure ride however. Crossing over rickety bridges, through various vertical stall-outs, down pitch black drops, giant helixes, not knowing where you're going. The theming is all pretty dark, sorta reminscent of the old Natelox style of parkmaking, which can be nice in some aspects, yet boring in others. A great ride like this should have more adventerous theming in my opinion, and is the only thing from keeping this ride from being a classic.
Here's a shot of the park's second adventure coaster, "The Curse of Manchu Picchu". This one has some of the theming ideas that Spirits of Xanfia maybe should have. The ride features numerous track jumps, a vertical plunge, but really hits its peak when it goes down a gigantic water drop down through a large custom face carved into the side of a gigantic mountain. I love when adventure rides use the arrow-hyper trains, they really serve the purpose best in my opinion, and this is a prime example. Temples are placed throughout the thing as well, stall-outs of course, all the necessities needed to make an excellent adventure ride, which this is.
Finally, a shot of "Updraft: Hawaiian Adventure", the park's Hang-Gliding 4th Dimension coaster. The paint scheme just screams out Hawaii, and the ride's layout is tremendous. Like almost every other ride in the park, this features a stall-out somewhere through the course. The personal flying dutchman cars are a great added touch, especially when you're skimming the beach and the crystal blue waters, just enjoying them in a more personal, isolated, individual experience then usual. Possibly my favorite overall ride in the park, just because of the setting and placement of the ride, and the thought put into it. Not quite as good as Butterfinger's "Hang Glider" at The Outer Banks, but not a bad interpretation.
