Junya Boy becomes the first parkmaker to ever have back to back runner-ups in consecutive rounds. An impressive title, but an unfair one, when you look at the drastic improvement from Dez-Morais Amusements to this incredible park. Junya Boy improves his theming, landscaping, architecture, and enhances his already very cool coasters in this park, and becomes the first parkmaker to ever MERGE rides in a released park. Garden of Desire is home to many of these rides, tons of cool little surprises on almost every ride. I was caught completely off guard by the addition of these merged rides, as elements never before used have been invented, and some of the cooler hacks from LL have been recreated. I really did want to make this park a spotlight, and it was extremely close, but I felt the park has a little bit of bland theming in some places, and that we've only just begun to scratch the surface of Junya Boy's parkmaking abilities. He's already become possibly my favorite coaster designer in RCT2, along with ToonTowner, and this park just gives another good reason why.
Here's a shot of my favorite ride in the park, "Orthodox", which has a rather UN-orthodox approach. Launching out of a heartline tunnel (there's one of those track merges I was raving about) and into an incredible twisting vertical drop into a series of buildings, before embarking on an extremely fun layout, including loops, twists, and the pictured Top Hat. You can also get a shot of some of the gardens that make up for the parkname, as they're scattered beautifully all throughout the park. Orthodox is just one of the many cool coasters, as I really enjoyed looking at every single one.
Here you get a shot of two coasters...and two hacks in one. The first one is the B&M Flying Coaster "Aquaria", which features two separate track merges. First, it becomes the first B&M Flyer to ever have a large Immelman inversion (which is just basic merging), but more importantly...it debuts my new favorite inversion of all time, a realistic Butterfly loop, pictured at the very top of the screen. Incredible job there, and Junya will forever have his name on one of the coolest inversions ever. Then there's "Tolerance", the GCI Wooden Coaster pictured in the bottom right hand corner, which features a large vertical loop...something that obviously doesn't come standard. Plus, you also get a sneak peek at a very pleasent car ride.
Now you see why the park is named "GARDEN of Desires", as the gardens come in full force here. Cascading landscaping filled with beautiful yellow, green, and blue flowers, blended in with the usually ugly pink trees make for one of the prettiest atmospheres I've seen in a long time. The cascading waterfalls are an added touch, very nicely done there. The coaster pictured is yet another merged ride in the park, "Lusch", an Impulse Coaster that goes normal up until the point you hit the large vertical loop, in what looks like a "Generation X Shuttle Loop". Hey, I can hope can't I? Congrats Junya on you're second Runner-Up (already), and I definitely see Parkmaker Status somewhere in your future, as long as you continue to stretch the limits of your imagination.
