Though sometimes perceived as cocky on the forums, ride6 is certainly no slouch when it comes to playing the game, and so it is with his latest park, probably his finest work yet, International Odyssey. Your basic adventure style park with various exotic lands, this fine work has a ton of nice rides and fantastic theming, and should definitely give ride6 some recognition for something other than bragging… =P
The first shot shows Serpent – Lord of the Snakes, a fantastic B&M inverter that takes riders through five intense inversions. Featured in the Lost Kingdom South area, this coaster really zips through its layout, which is extremely well integrated into its surroundings. The only flaw might be the lack of stuff after the trims… just a helix and a corkscrew seems a little odd, but other than that, it’s a really awesome coaster in a beautiful section of the park.
Over in Neptune’s Isle, a quaint, mysteriously exciting aura pervades the atmosphere. It’s classic Greek theming, but ride6 executes it well, showing his range in theming and styles. The main ride here is Neptune’s Wrath, an Intamin chute-the-chutes ride settled nicely within this décor.
A final shot portrays the Lost Kingdom area again. The largest themed land and my personal favorite, this is really rich in theming and mixes some nice trackitecture with traditional object scenery. Really, this is an awesome park, and probably the only thing that prevented it from making Spotlight was some inconsistencies in theming. Some of the areas are noticeably less immersive than others, and if ride6 can pick up the consistency and raise his entire park to this level, a Spotlight is no doubt in his future.
