Another rct2 park surfaces at New Element, this time by one of our own New Element Parkmakers, the underrated Twisted. Following up his debut success "The Other World" with a quick RCT2 park, he wins his second ever runner-up spot. Some really unique coasters throughout this map, and they're really the highlight of the park. The theming is nice, yet it's not too creative, seeing as this was most likely Twisted's "test" park to get a feel for RCT2. If that's the case, then I'd say Twisted has it down pat, and will be a pretty big force in the upcoming rct2 community.
Here's a shot of the "Ancient Mariner", a very intense Arrow Looper with an excellent layout. Several times it sprawls underground, and then resurfaces just to hit a high speed element. Really one of the fastest moving Arrow Loopers I've ever seen, and probably one of my favorites as well. Flying through interlocking corkscrews, overbanked turns, and other unique inversions, the Ancient Mariner is my personal favorite coaster on the map. Definitely should check it out. Great job here Twisted.
Here's a shot of the intense out & back "Clairvoyant" wooden coaster. Really one of the nicer looking wooden coasters I've seen lately, that takes full advantage of the banked hills and drops. A great twisting layout that leads to several out & back camelback hills before executing a beautiful giant helix, leading to the comeback. The second half of the ride is spent largely underground, with some great pop-ups for some awesome overbanked turns or quick helixes. Another great ride in this park.
Probably the most unique theming job I've seen in a RCT2 park yet (released), "Ifirit: The Fire Still Burns" sends riders up a blazing volcano, before falling off the side scorching the entire mountain. The screen only shows a small fraction of all the fire that appears on the mountain, and when looking at it live, it's really an awesome site. The layout is a little awkward, but the premise of the ride is fantastic. Definitely one of the cooler things I've seen done with RCT2 yet.
