Legends of the Loch By Micool Added on Saturday, 16 June 2007
Micool's full scale at New Element comes to us in a very unique form, this medievel themed Legends of the Loch park, which features some of the most unorthodox rides ever seen. Somehow able to pull off all these crazy rides, Micool really creates a whole new world with some of these awkward creations. Following up his 4th place performance in the Blockbuster Challenge, with a NE Runner-Up, as well as being picked 8th overall in the H2H2 Draft, Micool seems on his way up the New Element peking list. As soon as you open this park, you'll see just how different it is. The RCT Station style of parkmaking is still evident, yet he is just too creative for any one style to be placed on his name.
The first screen is a shot of the classic "City Dwellers" Arrow Loopers. These really remind me of the 'glory days' of Roller Coaster Tycoon, almost something you'd see out of a Greg Moore or Buster park or something. Just a style of ride that you don't really see too often, so it's great to see it here. Probably my favorite ride in the park, due to the great duels and the nostalgia it brings back. Awesome job Micool.
Now a shot of what I consider the definition of the word unorthodox. "The Caterpillar", which features its own style of custom supports, as well as a very distinct, winding layout that barely reaches above the trees. A nice ride station as well, but I just couldn't get over just how unique this coaster was. And how well it actually mimicked a caterpillar, so I guess good job for that as well.
Finally, a close up shot of the "O'Sherman Castle", which is just picture-perfect. Sort of reminds me of something that would come out of an aero21 park almost. The castle is located right next to "The Jester's Waterway", a crazy Virginia Reel that flies through castles, on top of lakes on yet another crazy layout. Definitely a park that's lots of fun to watch, despite the difference in style that you're used to.
