Nirvana By kRuCmTbIa (Kumba) Added on Saturday, 16 June 2007
That "other" Kumba is really starting to make some noise in the NE Community, as he seems determined on becoming a major RCT2 force. Already gaining popularity and respect for his runner-up "Dimensions" (especially at RCT2.com), Kumba continues to work and now unleashes "Nirvana", aka Project 28. A more junglish approach then his last park, Nirvana features some very interesting rides, to say the least, the best of which coming in the extended map 2 (Euroscape style), which include a B&M Flyer, a Dive Machine, and a mine ride, all of which (especially the Flyer) are really well done. Last time I wrote a description for Kumba, some nerd at RCT2.com cried because I complained about the number of peeps...Kumba saved everyone another tantrum by just eliminating the peeps, so everyone's happy. Great park Kumba, and congrats.
The first screen may look bizarre at first, and is...but really it's one of the most clever ideas I've seen in a long time. What you see before you is "Ski and Destroy"; basically a battlefield set up for peeps to ride jet-ski's on and do battle. One of the coolest rides I've ever layed eyes on, so major props goes out to Kumba on that. Definitely a ride I hope doesn't go overlooked in this park. Also pictured is the equally cool Water Maze, where peeps apparently jump in the water and swim their way through a floating labyrinth. Awesome idea, way to expand previous ideas and make them your own.
Really the most beautiful screen of the park right here...a shot of the park's sole water ride: "The Legend of Anubis", one of the three rides based on Anubis...along with a 6-car motion simulator (The Death of Anubis) and a B&M Sitdown Multi-Element (The Curse of Anubis). This is by far the best though in my opinion, a great use of golds and reds that really exhibits Kumba's knack for colors and theming. It's my personal favorite ride in the park..and that's not a knack on any of the coasters, as that's been the case for many great parks as well.
Finally, a shot of the extended map..and more specifically..the B&M Flyer. It really shows some nice looking snow theming, and it makes me wish that Kumba made more areas like this, instead treeing his coasters, like he has a tendency of doing. But this coaster, the water ride, and the first screen are all a huge glimmer of hope that Kumba expands his theming and gets more intricate, as each screen looks like that's the case. My favorite coaster in the park, with some very nice theming. I was definitely pleasently surprised by this park, and I'm looking forward to whatever you have cooking in the future.
