One of the lesser-mentioned names at NE gets some due recognition with Roman Epic, a park heavily inspired mythology and culture (be sure to read the ReadMe). This sprawling map takes a snapshot out of the Mediterranean area, covering Italy, Greece, Egypt, and some nearby areas as well. There are definitely some nice, pleasant areas in here if you explore enough, and while it project as a whole seems to be various gimmicks and tricks pieced together, it’s a good exhibition of skill
We begin in the gigantic Egypt area, where AP has created his own great pyramids and set them in a dense network of buildings and paths. The Virginia Reel is a humor ride called Mummified! and atmosphere pervades around. Though it’s a bit amateur, there’s definitely a sense of fun to it. And if there can be one thing said about the park, is that AP’s enthusiasm was obvious.
His effort can also be shown with stuff like the Roman Colosseum, elaborately constructed from a huge bundle of track. Yet, nearby is a pleasant Italian valley filled with fertile greens and a beautiful provincial atmosphere.
Finally, there is Aeneas and Dido, dueling Arrow multiloopers compacted tightly within a slew of blocky buildings. I must admit, the repetitiveness does get a bit tiring after a while, but it’s not a huge detraction from the park. The coaster itself features several near misses that are nice but seem a little too forced. Nevertheless, this is good work by a potential rising star, so congratulations on the Runner Up, AP!
