The Outer Banks By Butterfinger Added on Saturday, 16 June 2007
Another incredible Runner-Up this week comes from one of more original parkmakers: Butterfinger, with his latest creation, the follow-up to Lake Wintergreen...The Outer Banks! One of the most off-the-wall parks I've seen in a while, it still maintains some incredible coasters, awesome theming, and tons and tons of creative ideas, but then again, I expect nothing less from Butterfinger.
This is the station to "Guns of Vandamere", the park's largest coaster. This GCI Wooden Coaster is incredibly well themed, with skulls and dark rocks located all throughout the layout. And just like any other Butterfinger coaster, the ratings are incredible, but that only comes second fiddle to the great layout & theming.
Here is "Ghost Fleet Falls", one of the most oddball coasters I've ever seen. The ride is primarily an Arrow Looping Coaster (with tons of tunnels and great theming), which would have been cool enough, but Butterfinger had to add a very unorthodox "First Drop Water Drop", which can be seen in the screen. Wow.
Finally, a nice shot of the park's inverted coaster: "Gale Force", which features a very fitting paint scheme, and of course, a great layout. Another inverted coaster using the latest trend of small inversions, and a low to the ground approach. Still, Butterfinger finds a way to add some incredible ratings, like always.
