Ville des Fleuves By Gutterflower Added on Saturday, 16 June 2007
Remember back in the day when the vast majority of parks were made in LL? Remember back when parks were peepable, using single-wide paths to create scenario-istic fantasy worlds rather than multi-wide paths to simulate realistic parks? Yeah, most people probably don't these days, but here's a park that harkens back to the First Golden Age of RCT. From a golden parkmaker of RCT, Gutterflower, comes Ville des Fleuves, a crazy park that's not the best looker but definitely a fun little viewer.
We beging with Phoenix of the Flames, a really neat and long (nearly three minutes) suspended coaster that hits speeds of 60 MPH. Set within a Tropico-esque environment, this baby just runs, runs, runs. The intense turns and helixes make it clear that it's the coaster that commands attention, not the theming. It's an old-school style few are familiar with, and even fewer appreciate.
Onto another crazy giant coaster, Bloodguard, a terrain BeeMer with a 10.10 excitement rating and speeds of up to 70 MPH. This baby ascends a rocky cliff, does a Superman Krypton Coaster-esque 270 degree right turn, plumments, and just completely goes haywire from there. Plenty of speed and airtime abound as the coaster leaps through its hilly surroundings, interacting with several other thrill rides in the process.
And then there's Vertical Insanity. Yeah, it's a rocket coaster, but in old school tradition, it doesn't have to recreate every single detail. Instead, we have a fast, wild ride that couldn't possibly exist anywhere in the world (budget issues, of course), but ends up being fun anyway, when you suspend reality.

And really, that's the appeal of this park. It's not necessarily pretty or pleasing, but it's definitely bold and fun. It has character and enthusiasm, and it really harkens back to the day when Spotlights didn't require 65 pieces of scenery on one square. Congrats, Roomie. It's good to see the RCT fire still burning strong after all these years.
