The wait is over. After unleashing the wildly popular "Disney Dreams" (the most downloaded park in NE history), PyroPenguin makes his triumphant return to the NE Spotlight, with his latest masterpiece,
Aurora's Bay aka "Project Moose". Only one map this time, and a much more conventional theme park then Disney Dreams, Aurora's Bay still introduces some incredible ideas with some absolutely perfect theming and awesome coaster designs.
Aurora's Bay starts off directly in Castaway Quay, a beautiful, tropical area that serves as the park's entrance. Still though, the Quay is the home of one of the best coasters in the park, "Typhoon", a LIM powered B&M Sitdown Coaster, with an initial TA2K-esque hill. Stranded ships, raging waterfalls and beautiful architecture are all rampant throughout the opening area. Next is one of the most creative themed areas ever, Terras Labs, a full-scale labratory setting using the same inspired themes from Disney Dreams' Aquarius Hotel. Here you'll find "Expedition Terras", a merged Liquid Coaster which takes a huge final drop out of a giant volcano. You'll also find "Operation Talon", a great outdoor Ghost Train ride, with entertainers and beautiful theming lining the course. Waterslides, wooden track, and Virginia reels are used perfectly throughout the area to really capture the labratory feel. Third, is DrachenShire, the continuation of the area found in NE's IAAPA Convention. "Drachenflug", a B&M Inverted Coaster, that once again uses the small inversions is found here, weaving it's way through buildings and over trees. And "Dwarven Mountain Mining Co." takes the crown for my new favorite mine train, with a very in-depth layout with every inch of track planned out. Pyro then brings back his Egypt theming from DD, but in a much different style, with Nahatuka Oasis. Here we also get our first taste of a Pyro wooden coaster, "Black Magic", which is now one of my favorite woodies of all time. Man, is there nothing this guy can't do? Beautiful architecture & landscaping really highlight the area, as well as a nice adventure ride in Nahatuka Tombs. Finally, Kalakahuna Ruins rounds out the park, loosely based on Atlantis, with a much different type of setting and atmosphere, but with the same basic premise. "Makosarike", a Vekoma Flying Coaster calls this area home, as well as a very well executed rapids ride. Well, that takes you around one of the best pound for pound parks in the world. We are more then excited to host Pyro's latest work, and congratulations!
