Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to what is most probably the greatest RCT park ever made. Busch Gardens San Simeon is the crowning masterpiece of RCT legend Fatha', aka Fatha Grinch, aka Kryptic Master, aka one of the most long-running RCT parkmakers in history. Don't let the screens fool you; though they may look like they're portraying an RCT 2 park, this is most definitely LL. But don't let that stop you from taking a look at the most innovative and creative parks ever made. BGSS has it all: amazing roller coasters, fantastic theming, meticulous architecture, incredible ambiance, delightful details, and so much creativity and innovation that Fatha literally hit the limit... the object data limit, that is.

We begin in stunningly golden El Dorado, the entrance area to the park. If you want innovation, the exhibition starts here. Stacked stone ruins to create square columns... rapids ride track to create new wall textures... interplay of path and "trackitecture" roof textures... these are just a sampling of the lengths Fatha has gone to push the limits of LL beyond anything anyone has ever seen. And in the middle of it all: Nazca, a slithering Arrow suspended roller coaster intertwined within and among the temples, landscaping, and buildings. This beast hurtles riders through two minutes of twists, turns, dives, and swoops. And with all the close interacting theming, riders are never quite sure whether that next obstacle is far enough to avoid collision! Fans of heights will also love Inti's Reach, an S&S Combo Tower that takes riders 160 feet into the air!

Andes Village is probably the only area that bears any resemblence to Fatha's earlier works. But in using the "Tropico Style," it takes Fatha's best from his portfolio. Any gripes, however, will quickly be dispelled by Aconcagua: Canyon Runner, the best inverted coaster I have ever seen. This coaster makes full use of its valley setting, taking riders through six harrowing inversions past a stunning red desert landscape. Then check out Expedition Andes, a great motion simulator that takes riders up the slopes of some of the tallest and perilous mountains in the world. Machu Picchu offers a bit of respite from the thrills in a tranquil and gorgeous setting. Check out the observation deck tower Fatha used as columns for the King's High Court, then spin around on Harvester.

Amazonia features more exquisit trackitecture and hacked landscaping to achieve a rugged, exotic jungle look. It's also home to Bacillus, a solid B&M floorless roller coaster that may remind people of Superman: Krypton Coaster in how it plunges off an adjacent cliff. Theming is a lot more dense here, however, as the thrill machine dives through an ancient temple and rockets around the lush jungle landscape.

A little bit up the road lies Aruba, a tropical paradise with two great flat rides: Beach Crashers, a fun bumper cars ride, and Tempest, an S&S Swat ride. Next door lies the Galapagos, a more maritme jungle landscape modelled after the tropical islands off the coast of Ecuador. In this exciting environment is Savage Current, a thrilling rapids ride that is sure to make a splash! Caldera: Expedition is another fun little ride that delves deep underground into the heart of this strange but beautiful land.

Next door to that stands the gritty City of God, perhaps best known from the great film of the same name. The streets here aren't meant to be pretty, but there is definitely a sense of aesthetics to the way the buildings are textured and the space is created. Power lines run from house to house, junk is littered on the streets, and dunginess fills the air. But A Cidade de Deus also houses O Criminoso, a renegade Arrow multi-looper that runs rampant over and around the streets of this South American slum. Modifying the successful Drachen Fire layout formula, this coaster is yet another one of BGSS's incredible thrill rides.

Finally, Yuracuy houses the best wooden coaster ever created (again, in my opinion), Vigilante, a terrain twister that somehow manages to bulldoze its away in, under, and around the landscape and surrounding buildings and somehow look elegant and wild at the same time. This is one ride where the thrills don't stop, and it cannot be missed. Don't miss Coches Locos either, the smallest but most fun wild mouse guests may ever see. It's amazing what Fatha' can do with even a small ride like this, but the theming here, as it is everywhere, is impeccable.

What makes this park legendary is how it embodies everything a Spotlight stands for: magnificent rides, awe-inspiring theming, and above all else, ground-breaking creativity. Without the advantage of custom scenery that RCT 2 allows, Fatha' was forced to create everything from within the limited pallette he had in LL. And yet, what emerges is something that looks just as good, if not better, than even the best works in RCT 2 (thusfar). Even diehard RCT 2 players should look at this park as an example of how to achieve that special indescribable "it" that truly great parks possess, because this innovation is certainly a major part. It would be a crime not to download this park. Trust me on it. And lets hope college doesn't hinder Fatha's potential to create even more amazing Spotlights in the future!
