It's been a while since our last spotlight, but I've been waiting until the right park came along, and it has. Following up his NE Debut, the spotlight winning "Disney's Tiled Acres", Meretrix keeps his Disney spirit alive with one of the most anticipated parks of the past year,
Disney's Phantasia Resort. A highly upgraded, much improved, newer park when compared to his first one, this park features brand new rides, themes, and ideas that have never before been used in Disney parks. It still has the good old classics that make the Disney parks so special, and enhances each and every bit of everything in the entire park to make this quite possibly the best and most realistic fantasy Disney park ever.
The park starts off on the beautiful mainstreet, past Mickey's Fantasia cap and the beautifully decorated 'ear gardens' that sit on the slope of the park's railroad. The architecture (one of Trix' greatest attributes) is absolutely perfect. Beautiful buildings all screaming Disney in all different shapes and sizes. There's even a damn near perfect Main Street Parade exhibition as you continue down Main Street, which keeps going until you hit the park's centerpiece, the latest Disney Castle. If you hang a left before the castle however, you'll run into Adventure Isles, easily the biggest area of the park, one that takes up the entire left hand side of the property. You'll find a dizzying assortment of rides all based on different Disney classics. Aladdin has a large corner devoted to him, with the "Abracadabra!" Launched Floorless Adventure Coaster snaking in and out of the gorgeous landscaping....not to mention "Aladdin's Magic Lamp", a custom flat ride. Continuing down Adventure Isles you'll find the world famous "Pirates Of The Caribbean", a realistic re-enactment of the original ride found in Orlando's Magic Kingdom. Next up you'll find an island dedicated to Indiana Jones, where two rides lay. First, a small freefall attraction in the form of "Chasm Of Doom", and a unique Virginia Reel in "Indiana Jones & The Forbidden City". Finally, Tarzan has a winding, camoflauged suspended coaster in "Tarzan's Vine Surfing Adventure". As for the other areas, you have the Nightmare Before Christmas-inspired Halloween Town, which serves as the home to rides like "Bald Mountain" and "Oogey Boogey Adventure", two of the park's most famous attractions. The dark, brooding architecture in this area is astonishing, another attribute to Meretrix's greatness. Finally, you have Discovery Bay, the futuristic area that replaces "Tomorrowland". Featuring "Journey: Centre of Earth", the latest in the world-famous installments, this version being a Premier Underground LIM Coaster. Other rides such as "Around The World In 80 Days" and "20,000 Leagues Under The Sea" are all found in this area. There is so much to see, in one of my favorite parks to actually walk through. The atmosphere and environment is perfect. Congrats Meretrix on going two for two with your Disney spotlights. Hopefully you'll stick around long enough to make another ;).
