For years, the Walt Disney company has had a stronghold on the theme park industry. With parks and resorts in almost every continent, they have proven themselves a forced to be reckoned with using simpler ideas such as the Magic Kingdom in California, to more developed and complex ones such as EPCOT. As the parks kept coming, so did the crowds, as some Disney parks proudly hold attendance records over competing chains such as Busch Gardens and Six Flags. So naturally, the Disney company had to step up to the plate with a new generation park: DisneySea. Once opened, it proved to be one of the most popular of the Disney parks ever. Following in that light, New Element member Highball proudly brings the DisneySea experience to life in RCT, giving us his take on the famous park in Tokyo, Japan.

Upon entering the park, you stumble into the inviting Mediterranean Harbor. Full of bright and diverse colors, it perfectly reflects the Italian port city it models itself after. Whether you're taking a brisk ride on the gondolas or sampling some of the delicate cuisine, Mediterranean Harbor is sure to please. To the left, you stroll into a completely different part of the globe, the American Waterfront. As the tall brick buildings and telephone lines surround you, take in the sounds of the Electric Railway passing overhead. Or, take a spin on the area's main attraction, Manhattan Motor Madness! If the business of downtown New York isn't your scene, then keep heading north to the quiet and relaxing port of Cape Cod. With an all-you-can-eat cook-off and an authentic New England lighthouse, this part of the park is one of the more secluded, making it the ideal place for a break during your day. Once you've rested up, head over to Port Discovery. Often referred to as the "marina of the future," this area is home to Aquatopia, and the thrilling Stormriders attraction. However, if the future isn't your thing, proceed to Lost River Delta, home of one of the more popular attractions in the park, Indiana Jones Adventure. With its tall canopy of trees, ramshackle architecture, and realistic Mayan temple, the Lost River Delta has countless things to explore. Further, the exploration continues in Arabian Coast. Join Sinbad on the Seven Voyages of Sinbad, watch broadway style performances in the Magic Lamp Theatre, or take a stroll through the streets of Agrabah. Whatever the case, you're sure to find adventure and excitement here. Taking a break from the busy streets of Agrabah, join the proud people of the Scandinavian Inlet. Taking queue from the Norway pavilion at EPCOT, the Inlet provides the same atmosphere as its sister, with its replica stave church and mesmerizing architecture. Think you can brave the seas? Then take a voyage on Maelstrom, a journey on water through the history of Scandinavia. If you're seeking even more mystery, then Mysterious Island is for you. Go 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea with Jules Vern, or take your chances on the thrilling, Journey to the Center of the Earth. If you're looking for smaller thrills, simply hop aboard and explore the Nautilus. The mysteries are endless here!

Whether you're enjoying a quiet walk in Cape Cod, or sampling the fare in Mediterranean Harbor, there is something for everyone at DisneySea. Fully immersing you in the vibrancy and originality of the true, real life park, Highball has created a Disney masterpiece that only others have dreamed of making. Walt Disney once said it was all started by a mouse. Well, I think now we can safely say a new level of Disney Parks has been started by Highball.

Congratulations, and well done.

When I opened the park I was immediately taken by the huge entrance section with its outstanding Mediterranean facades. The next best area is easily the volcano set nautical Disney theme at the center of this huge park. Great work there with all the details. Highball also manages to pull off some seldom seen Disney ideas and themes very well like on his Manhattan Motor Madness and Maelstorm indoor rides. Overall the park is extremely impressive and a worthy first spotlight win. Also congratulations on the parkmaker spot, I still remember the old parks by Mad Dawg and Iceman, but this Highball guy almost seems as good as those two put together ;-)
Xcoaster Says:
Given the almost overwhelming detail in the theming and architecture of Iceman's DisneySea, it's no surprise that this park has been under construction (largely in the scenario editor) for three years. And upon viewing the final result, it's clear that the hard work has paid off in full, making it one of the most impressive parks to grace NE, particularly due to the uniquely massive scale at which everything is built. It's certainly my favorite of the four (yes, four) DisneySea spotlights. Granted, the park's ride density is somewhat less than what we've come to expect from an NE release (I think it might be the first ever spotlight with no true coasters), but given the heavy Disney realism, and the fact that Iceman once again managed to run out of room, the lack of rides should be understandable.
CedarPoint6 Says:
I like coasters a lot, so when I saw it was a Disney park, I wasn't sure if I'd like it. Once I opened the park, however, I was blown away. The atmosphere in each area has its own unique feel and it's apparent that quite a lot of time was spent getting the architecture right. I've already spent several hours looking through the park and I don't think I've seen everything yet! DisneySea is the best Disney Park I've seen in RCT.
Evil WME Says:
Where adventure and imagination set sail. Wow. It doesn't happen often that we get to see a park that puts RCT into another perspective. Iceman disregards 'standard NE parkmaking'. He uses theming objects others disgust and builds in a bigger scale than most. Somehow, in his own way, he made this park such a looker. It's so detailed and intensely exciting! Although incomparable to almost every other park, I definitely see this park as the best, most realistic Disney park around. Congratulations and thank you, Highball.
