Game Version: RCT2
Parkmaker: eyeamthu1

The name eyeamthu1 is heard far and few between here at New Element, but when he does decide to show up he almost always brings great things to share. In 2006 he released his large project called Bramble Lake Resort. He then began work on a full-scale megapark, but it was put on hold so he could compete in RCPro’s Summer Showdown 2007. Throughout that contest he co-produced four mini-parks with his teammates. Though he may not have the most expansive list of previous projects, eyeamthu1 can now cross Spotlight off of his RCT-to-do list with his park Magic Realms Resort.

Viewers of this park quickly realize the sheer immensity of the project upon opening the game. It is quite a feat to complete a project this size on a bench that is nearly three years old, all while fighting with the game’s object limit. Despite issues with limits, objects and glitches, eyeamthu1 was still able to bring this park to the community complete with the ever-unmanageable park guests and too many rides and attractions to count, each complete with their own back-story explained in the additional brochure PDF file.

Starting in the Gateway entrance plaza, visitors can relax before heading off to the thrills that await in the rest of the park by taking a ride on the carousel, the Ferris wheel, or even row a boat in the beautiful lake. They can also travel 200 feet in the air on a double-decker observation tower that gives breathtaking views for miles surrounding the resort. Magic Realms Hotel sits beautifully in the center of the map with rooms overlooking every section of the park. Attached is an indoor water-park, "Aruba Bay" with slides and other water attractions for the whole family.

Coming into The Old West, Maurer-Sohne X-Car Coaster "Bandit" dominates over the guests exploring the area, while "Rattlesnake," the parks woodie, twists and turns its way through the area’s desert landscape. Guests wanting to get soaked can take a dive on "Renegade Cascade," while those in search of some disorientation could take a spin on one of the two rotating flat rides. "The Old West Railway" and the show "Wild West Shootout" offer a more tame experience for younger guests or families.

Next to explore is the Aztec Empire, where guests will first see the monster that is "Itzli’s Revenge," an Intamin drop tower. Behind it is the Maverick-inspired "Montezuma" coaster that features a beyond-vertical drop and also a 60 mph launch through a tunnel. "The Temple of Talocan" offers a unique interactive special effects show, while the "Vengeance of Atlaua" also treats guests to a rare treat of an attraction. A kiddie-coaster "The Serpent" and a scrambler ride "The Toltec Twister," are perfect for little kids and their parents.

Frostbite Forest is centered around the intense Bolliger and Mabillard invert sunk into a frosty mountain named, "Frostbite." Though hidden behind an attractive castle façade, "Lost Phantom Falls" offers up the experience of both a roller coaster and water ride. If guests are in for a scare, haunted house walkthrough "Shiver Mountain Manor," thrilling top spin “The Blade” and dark ride "Forbidden Castle" await! After a few spins on B&M invert, guests can treat themselves to a more leisurely time at the "Lake Frostbite Ice Rink" or on the chairlift.

While exploring the Asian-style architecture and scenery of Ancient China, guests can have a great time on B&M Floorless "Dragon King" or Maurer-Sohne spinning coaster "Race the Sun." If guests want to get soaked, "Pearl River Rapids" awaits and offers fantastic views of "Dragon King" while it intertwines through the landscape. Plenty of other rides throughout Ancient China await thrill seekers of all ages.

Rock n’ Roll Plaza is the spot for rock lovers. Here, Intamin accelerator "Overdrive" takes center stage and features an intense 0-80 mph launch in under two seconds. Under its gigantic shadow stand "Flying V" and "Disco Ball," both intense swinging flat rides. Guests can take a flying saucer for a spin on "Mosh Pit" or hop aboard "Rock n’ Roll Express" for an indoor roller coaster experience unlike any other. Live rock shows can be seen at "The Venue: Concert Arena," while those interested can brush up on their Rock n’ Roll knowledge on the "Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame Tour."

In Fort Phoenix, visitors can run rampage through a military base with a twist. Interactive attractions including a splash battle "Splash Attack!" and an explosive stunt show are a treat for everyone. Those thrill-seekers not afraid to get into the flying position can twist, dodge, and battle another train of screaming guests on "Blitz" and "Blaze," together known as "Secret Weapon;" dueling B&M flying coasters.

Congratulations on the honor of creating a memorable Spotlight park, eyeamthu1!

One of the best ways to objectively 'judge' a submission in RCT is to guage the execution of the entry. Magic Realms Resort not only succeeds as a tight-knit, exciting theme park with quality track layouts, great architecture, and the business as usual, but it is so much more. It pulls off the impressive, detail-oriented park, and is executed well, but the sum of the parts truly make up the whole. The reason this park is so special is that it is so memorable. It may not be groundbreaking, but the coasters, the peeps, the whole thing is so damn exciting! There are so many moments that give me that rush of excitement; like Montezuma's crossovers, or the entrance plaza with the fountain, which is pulled off simply with class, and better than I could ever do. It is clear this park was constructed from the peep's point of view, because the whole time, I imagined what an incredible day in this park would be like, looking up at the incredible ride interactions, taking in the beautiful scenery, and having a hell of a time at the park.

When I saw pictures of this and even incomplete versions of the saved game, I thought the park was good, but it didn't really hit me how good the park was until I saw the final version. The accomplishment of finishing a park of this size and caliber is a huge feat and rare in the RCT community these days. I know how many headaches you've had to deal with when constructing this park, object limit, black hole after black hole and ride statistic bug just to name a few, it is wonderful that you stuck with it and completed it. I am positive you will learn from your mistakes and your next project will surpass this piece of work by miles.

It is apparent you have your own unique style, mixing great coaster design with the knowledge and inspiration from the many parks you've visited in real life. This knowledge translates to the game almost perfectly, giving the guests an amazing place and atmosphere to visit. I can only imagine how fun it would be to visit this park in real life. The years put into this park, and the presentation you gave it with the brochure is outstanding. Reading through the brochure reminded me of my fond collection of brochures from parks around America that I loved to collect, read and look at while I was a kid. It really was nostalgic mixing real life photos blended into the brochure with RCT photos.

Congratulations on the pinnacle RCT achievement and NE Parkmaker spot. It is well deserved!

A few years ago eyeamthu1 impressed me with his park "Bramble Lake," which I saw at RCPro. With Magic Realms, Alex takes a step forward and uses individually themed areas in his park. I must say when opened the park, I was pretty impressed by the execution. It was packed with ideas in each area and the park showed what RCT is all about--the coasters! eyeamthu1 built 12 roller coasters in his park and each one has a unique and realistic layout. Montezuma might be one of the best coasters ever in a spotlight park here at NE. The interaction from rides, paths and landscape was awesome throughout. And the fact that this park is peep-able makes me open this park again very often. All I can say is congrats Alex for this RCT2 masterpiece! I truly enjoyed it!

>posix Says:

This park showed me ways of amazement that i had long forgotten. Beginning to watch the park going left after the entrance, I wasn't immediately blown away after the woodie. However, this began to change once I moved on to the Maverick-esque ride. The way how things interact with one another is so incredible and makes for so many good moments that I'm having difficulties to compare this to any other park. The ride design is so convincing and realistic that I'm not sure I remember when I last felt such strong real-life inspiration in a park. The "Picture-Youself-In-This-Park"-factor totally overwhelmed me. And that although one could argue the park has a lot of semi-realistic elements.

No matter what, I had never known what a great talent we have at our site with eyeamthu1.
