Spellbrook Shore By J K Added on Tuesday, 04 September 2007
You can't have a new NE website without a new Spotlight. Well thanks to J K we have a brand spanking new NE Spotlight park! This also means for the second spotlight in a row we have a new member of the NE Parkmaker family, and yup, it's J K (Not to be confused with JKay even if you do happen to say both the exact same way). So buckle your seat belt, keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle and leave the kids in a park locker or something as we embark on our trip to Spellbrook shores!

J K does not pull many punches in this park and you get a lot of goodies right at the mainstreet themed entrance, my favorite of witch is the Control boats. One thing J K has always been great at is adding small yet super realistic details and he does it all over this park. Along with the boats one of the best is the little peep objects acting as park staff standing there to give you information or tell you the rules to a game of chance. The entrance also features the parks suspended coaster "Penula." As we head off to the right we come to Traverse Town which is home to "Clockwork," an outstanding Corkscrew coaster that is themed very nicely with countless charming little brick buildings. One of the coolest things in this area has to be J K's clockwork ornament with it's rings and little digits tacked on. J K also has some great smaller scale attractions like Traverse Buggy's and one of his staples, an open-air stage show. The architecture here is really fantastic and I would say the area has the best atmosphere of any in the park. Next we make our way too the Sunshine Kingdom which is home to the parks largest coaster, a B&M floorless called "Kestrel." Now I would say this is weakest area of the park, but that is still saying something about J K's skill. I only think it's weak due to the repetitiveness of Tan colors on the buildings, roves and paths. Another thing I disliked was his sky swat "Raven," don't get me wrong, it was executed pretty well, but every park seems to have one these days and they hardly seem like 'custom' rides anymore. As we cross a small land bridge we find ourselves in Fort Ironside, the largest area in the park. This area delivers an excellent viking there with great rides like Odin's Plunge and what J K claims to be his first ever custom flat ride "Siege." If thats your first I can't wait to see your next, it was one the biggest highlights in the park for me. The star of this area is likely the parks best ride "Ironside." This coaster was made even better when J K let geewhzz go to town on it and add all his favorite realistic details, (but I think you forgot transfer tracks!). The only way to penetrate the thick mazes surrounding Bramble Cove is on the beaten path and here you will find one of the most pleasant areas I can remember seeing in RCT. The tranquility is stunning in this area and all the rides are so calm. The main ride here is a simple side friction called "Grayheart." One thing that makes this are so nice is the lovely Victorian style of architecture used and of course the huge amount of shear maze that engulfs it all. Finally we come to Puerto España the parks Spanish area. What I love about this area is the way J K captures the Spanish flavor with all the bright lively colors and of course there is the details like... oh, a bullfight! Now if your a proud member of PETA don't  put J K on your hit-list just it, because it's all simulated. This area also sports some great small scale rides like the custom flat "Solaris" and J K's small yet awesome go-kart track "Espana touring cars." However, the big ticket ride in this area is "Matador" which was built by J K's good friend and fellow NE Spotlight winner CedarPoint6.

J K this park is really outstanding and ranks as one of my all time favorites. Congrats on such a great achievement, it really does not surprise me much as I have always seen what talent you have, I mean I did trade Emergo for you. I just hope your surprised and relieved (I kinda lead him to believe it was only a blockbuster, heh...) to see it where it belongs on the NE Spotlight page.
