X250 has been a force in RCT2 for a little more then a year now with amazing parks like this one and The Time Machine from the PT2 that nabbed him an NE Parkmaker spot. Can it really come as much of a surprise that the people have come to decide that he now needs a spotlight? Today Simon Pope captures the 6th ever Elevated NE Spotlight after a narrow defeat over Metropole's Tussaud's Boscastle Heights at the 2006 NE Awards with his Masterpiece, The Masterpiece.
We begin by passing through Main Street Plaza into the charming King's Rialto, a beautifully themed port of call, echoing a pleasant atmosphere reminiscent of some of the classic SA and Schuessler parks of the past. That lazy, relaxing mood where the eye beholds a myriad of soothing scenes is a great way to kick off a tour of the park. Turning left, guests are transported to Arabian Nights, a rich, dazzling, vibrant blend of exotic Middle Eastern flavor. Pictured here is Osiris, a giant (and I do mean giant) Huss Top Spin that looms over much of the themed area. Snaking its way through the lower part of the screen is the interestingly named Turkish Delight, a rambling suspended coaster that weaves its way all over the place and provides some high intensity thrills for all guests. Journeying up into Myth brings guests into the classical world of Greek mythology. Here, X seems to mix in a bit of the Atlantis theme to liven up the atmosphere. And if guests aren't lively enough, a ride on Oceanus--a B&M sitdown looper (co-built with Artist) with an amazing nine inversions is sure to do the trick! There's also Magnus Colossus, a very nifty custom drop ride that really shows off X250's creativity! Next we come to the Dragon's Lair, the Asian area of the park. It seems like including one is part of the formula for success these days. X uses a vivid blend of all sorts of colors, and yet he manages to make them all work. It doesn't hurt that one of the best rides in the park, Red Dragon, torches its way through the area, flying over and around the River Yangtze, a refreshing rapids ride that lazily winds its away around the premises. If by now, guests haven't gotten the Tussands influence, the Kingdom of Speed should probably knock the allusion straight into their faces. Marked by a towering Intamin rocket coaster by the name of Grand Prix Legend, this area celebrates racing and speed. Though not as refined as some of his other areas, Kingdom of Speed showcases X250's creativity in its theming, architecture, and structures. It's like NASCAR... except probably British. Somewhere between Toadstool Village and Bays of Tropicana lies Diable Tonner, possibly the best ride in the park and the most oddly named for sure. Set in a heavily wooded area, this beast twists and turns with ferocity, sending riders on a nearly mile-long ride on the back of a demon. The final area of the park is lush forest, sporting one of the most impressive water coasters I have seen in Treetopz, which romps all over this charming area. You'll also find the parks best details here with the custom Q's, rides, and whatnot. Mr. Pope can now call himself a NE Spotlight winner, thanks to some help from his fans, which I am sure he does not mind. After getting an SRU and missing the top 5 of the PT2 it really must feel good to have that NE Spotlight, the prize of all prizes at NE. You sure made Kumba proud of his little British brother from another Mother ;-) | |
