We bring to you another of the most fabled parks around the NE Community in the past year and a half. A park that earned the upcoming mantis the "Parkmaker of the Year" award in 2003, before he even released it. A park that changed the way people used colors in parks before it was even finished, and also inspiring a whole new trend of music-inspired rides and parks...all this before the eventful release of what's inside the "womb": Walkman Of My Brain by mantis. Shooting straight up to number two on The List only resting behind Sea World Atlanta, it jumped ahead of legendary parks such as Tropico Horizons and Rivers of Babylon, and also makes for mantis' second top 10 List park (along with Age of Empires). Looks like mantis is earning that Parkmaker of the Year award huh?
The park starts off in the quaint "Portal" area, a nice subtle red entrance area that really just sets the table for the rest of the park. Moving directly to the right you'll enter the Discovery area of the park, themed to D.A.F.T Punk. This is the largest area in the entire park, and features the most rides. It's here you'll find "Digital Love", the psychotic B&M 10+ Floorless Coaster, "Aerodynamic", a launched pipeline Flying Dutchman, and the D.A.F.T Test Launch. Not to mention an insane assortment of custom flat rides and one of a kind attractions. Not to mention you can check out Daft Punk live in concert! Moving on to the Hotel Yorba, you'll find one of the best looking hotels I've ever seen....not to mention it has a pair of wooden coasters racing through them! Continuing on you'll hit the Pavonis Mons area of the park, themed to the Flaming Lips, the last area completed. "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots" is absolutely breathtaking, but you don't even get to ride it without winning the pre-ride fight race. And I don't even think I have to point out the Skyscraper Cafe. The last area of the park is the most colorful and bizarre, Rooty, which features "Bingo Bango", my personal favorite ride in the park, "Romeo River", "Broken Dreams", and some other interesting rides. Rooty is actually my favorite area in the park, although it's definitely the most hit or miss area. An absolutely breathtaking park, I really couldn't find much wrong with it. While I doubt traditionalists such as Posix will really appreciate it, the majority of the site has found a new park to bow down to, congratulations mantis. (BTW...there's something fishy about that lake...) |
