So I'm posting this a day early... sue me.

This is Beejer's crazy and twisted park, Moonbase Amusement Park. It's huge, it's colorful, it's demented, and it's fun.

    Discuss it here.

    Augh..my brain..so much comprehension..pain..

If Beejer were to learn to build better coaster that incorporate into his scenery and have less repetition in those MASSIVE buildings he'd be more accepted into the community, otherwise, this was lovely to look at. The buildings are pieces themselves and the style is all his own, so congrats on that, Beejer!

There really is no one like him. And that is a compliment in itself. Great park, and keep up your crazy style.

Is that WW and TT scenery in there? Sure looks like it. Definitely have to download this one and take a closer look at it.

    Oh my...

I'm not sure what to say. I love that you are true to yourself in your parkbuilding and choose not to follow anyone elses rules. However, sometimes you make choices within this park (especially with your scenery selections) that totally ruin it for me. For example, the ice landscaping is so flat looking it kills the perspective of the area you used it in. I also noticed some of the pillars have the reverse light/dark shading from one of the view angles...it seems small, but it just makes the area look wrong. It's little things like this and what I would consider poor coaster construction that hold the park back for me. There's so much in there that is fun and outlandish that at times I'm totally pulled in, but then I'll scroll over and see something that totally puts me off. I would say that I love about 60% of this and dislike about 40%.

Whoa. You really ought to start learning how to have the rides interact well with scenery. The theming was cool, but the whole park layout, the ride layouts, and the randomness really ruined the park.

    Wow. Just... wow!

I thought I made some crazy shit.

It's hard to say exactly what I think of this park. Viewing it in relation to other RCT parks I've seen is like comparing apples to oranges, or rather apples to really strange and frighteningly wonderful apples that you've never seen before but can't really stop looking at.

I love the geometry and the other-worldly-ness. I think you could still convey that w/o all the scenery.

Anyway, I don't know what it is or even why it exists, but I love it. Thank you.

Fucking crazy. Did not expect anything like this... ever... not even from ^. Wow. Awesome...

But yeah, some scenery sucked... especially that town shit. Going back two hours to get rid of all that scenery.

EDIT: Jesus Christ... 465 new objects created coming to a grand total of 11.5 MB! Learn to choose scenery that you'll use and nothing more, lol.

To be honest, I didn't really like it. It's just a bit too much...

I do like the fact that it was something completely different from the most rct creations, so that was really refreshing and interesting to see. But sometimes it's just too much, the buildings were too big here and there, and a few coasters didn't really do it for me. However having said that, I did like to took at it cause it's really, really something different but in the end the park didn't really do it for me. Oh well, keep this parkmaking going cause we need diversity. :)

Thank you everone for your comments. As most of you have probably figured out by now, I love to play this game. The first time I came across NE while surfing I was blown-away by the things you guys were doing. So much that I actually signed-up to be a member(NE was the first "on-line" anything for me).

I realize my creative style differs from the main of NE's, so please know how much I appreciate any kind of acceptance on any level. I also realize that I don't participate that much as far as posts are concerned. I been a member for a year and a half now. Fuck, time flies! But, hopefully you all will understand that I prefer to build rather than type (most of the time). When I am in the mood for chatting, NE is the first place I go.

NOW. . . if I may make a suggestion to every one complaining about so many custom pieces, let me explain how you can avoid any "bequeathals". A while ago I too had so many objects in my folder that it was causing one kind of problem or another. With the use of 4 utility programs I was able to identify, delete duplicates, rename and re-group all of my objects.

This was all done for the sake of selecting objects or groups while in the game. Ever since then I've downloaded many parks that had their own custom objects and still my object folder has remained un-affected, immune if you will.

This is acheived based on one fact. Every time you start RCT2 the first thing the program does is look for a folder titled "ObjData". When it finds the folder it compares all the objects you currently have against a list of objects you had when last closing the program.

Too much information?, sorry I like giving background info especially when helping out. The key to all this is the "ObjData" folder. Let me break it down this way:

In the following instructions I will assume your folder/file structure is: Infogames.../Rollercoaster Tycoon2/ObjData/.

Step 1. Before opening any parks open your RCT2 folder.

Step 2. Copy the "ObjData" folder (Click on the folder once, so it's highlighted and hit Ctrl C).

Step 3. Hit/type Ctrl V: paste the folder(yes in the same folder, RCT2)

Step 4. When it's done pasting you will see the folder, "Copy of ObjData"

All your objects are now saved. Nothing will be added or taken away from that folder by the game, meaning unless you do it.

SO . . . now let's say you just finished looking at one of my parks and you want to get rid of all that crap . . .

Step 5. Go back to your RCT2 folder and delete the "objData" folder.

Step 6. Rename the "Copy of ObjData" folder to "ObjData"

It's just that simply guys, so stop worrying about custom objects and back to enjoying the game. As all professionals and/or instructions will tell you, always, always back up your work.

I keep 2 back up folders. 1 folder has all 772 original RCT2 objects, and the other has about 1,700 objects that include the custom ones. It was a pain in the ass to organize the object folder, but worth every second.

If anyone needs assistance organizing their folder, or any utilities, and more so making their own "scenery groups" I will be happy to help, especially in the next few weeks.(some free time has opened up for me)

    Again, thank you everyone,

    Beejer

^lol, wish I had known that before I loaded your park last night, beej. Oh well, it was worth it to check this monster out.

Anyway. As far as the park, I'm not sure what to think. I think toon's comment is similar to my thinking. There's part of me that just loved some of the stuff you had in there, especially the geometric structures and spaceships. The other part of me just felt either overwhelmed and/or confused. The rollercoasters, imo, didn't really add anything too the park at all and seemed unnessecary in places. Some of the abstract theming was cool, but probably a bit over the top in places. So, in the end, I think I enjoyed this park more than the average RU, but I still think there's vast room for improvement in your parkmaking career, beej. Congrats on the win though, thats always a good thing here at NE.

Congrats on your win, Beejer. The Rocket and the escape pods are my fav pieces of archy in this park.

Beejer, I cannot thank you enough for again showing that there's more to parkmaking than just building something pretty. The coasters seem to be your main weak point, I'm not saying they need to be realistic but it would help to have certain realistic elements in their designs. The architecture of course is entirely epic and jaw dropping in it's scale and overall forms which seem to be choosen with a massive level of care. Like I said the coasters are hurting you quite a lot and it's been that way all along, here without your folidge (a bold but smart move) the coasters are even more exposed to the critical eye.

Still an amazing piece of work and one that I will have to look back on from time to time.

The screens look fantastic, sadfully, I wont be able to check this park out in game for a while as I have no computer with any working Rct game on it...Oh well. This will be one of the first parks I check out when I get Rct back.

as everyone else said the buildings are unique and great looking. but also as said before your coasters are very outplaced in the scenery. along with that fact the coasters didnt blend with the scenery some parts of the coasters were very unsatifying to the eye. i found all the double or triple chain hills just to get to the top of the coaster boring. alot of the time the coasters looked very big and outlandish. but the buildings were good and i cant imagine the amount of work pot into them. nice work

I haven't had so many objects downloaded when I open a park since I first installed the game :D

this park is weird. some of the structures are really impressive.
