Just wondering how many other musicians are on the site and if your in a band and what instrument you play.

-Years Been Playing: 12-13 Years (Music has been my life ever since)

    -Position: VOCALS, GUITARS, PIANO/SYNTH

-Production/Software: REASON 6, FRUITYLOOPS 10, CUBASE 5, PROTOOLS 10, GUITAR RIG 4, X-EDIT, ACID PRO 7 (Can't say I really use this anymore. But it is a nice beginner software for recording and looping.) Also have other VST plug-ins like Auto-Tune, GSnap, ect.

-Guitars: ESP LTD F-100, IBANEZ S-CLASSIC, ESP LTD EC1000, SCHECTER TEMPEST CUSTOM, BC RICH WAVE, OVATION ACOUSTIC. (Also have a couple others, but these are my main guitars.)

-Amp: MARSHALL JMD100 HEAD w/ 4/12 MARSHALL CAB

Effects: DIGITECH RP 355, KORG TONEWORX AX100, BOSS GT-6 (fucking hate this pedal, bought it because it was unsale from $500 to $250... perhaps should have played it a bit more at the store. lol) ^But I mostly use my stompboxes.

-Other/Random: Behringer Xenyx 1204USB Mixer / Audio Interface. (What I make my magic happen.) MXL 990 Studio Mic, Monster Cables, SHENHEISER Headphones, FOSTEX MONITORS, GHS BOOMER 46-10 STRINGS, My tuning varies, but most of the time it's down a 1/2 step in Eb or dropped to C#. Dunlop .73 Picks (The yellow ones) But I have been getting attached to those new nylon ones they came out with that have the grips for my faster stuff. MicroKorg Synthesizer/Vocoder.

That's pretty much what I can think of off the top of my head. My brother also owns a Roland TD-9 that sits in my studio. Right now I'm working on getting a Thunderbird bass for recording because as of now I do all my bass with REASON 5.

Anyone else here have a recording setup? I would love to maybe throw a song to someone and collaporate on a song or 2. Also, my band will be releasing a new album sometime late winter / spring. First single should be up within a month.

    I play some keyboard... I own a Korg N364:

We have a piano here too. Despite many people telling me I have great talent, I never seriously tried to improve my skills. I had piano lessons for a few years and it definately got me further, but I just never practised and stuff. Quite a shame, because I want to be a good player. I'm just a lazy bastard...

I'm writing songs in Guitar Pro now, I want to make an album in the upcoming months. Genre is progressive power metal, but quite mellow and with random themes. Literally random, candlewax and sawdust and themes like that. I've written about twenty minutes already, with some more songs in the making. I'm not sure if I can play all the keyboard parts I'm writing, but maybe that's a good motivation to practice some more! For guitars, drums and vocals I'll ask other people to record it for me. In the worst case I'll have to stick with the guitar pro sounds. :p

Also, my band will be releasing a new album sometime late winter / spring. First single should be up within a month.

Cool, what genre is your band?

I've been playing drums for almost 14 years now.
Started my first band at the age of 13, playing punk rock...over six years we developed into a kind of post-rock band, whatever that is. My main band at the moment is a kind of rock band, quite brutal and over the top though. There should be something that can be listened to from this band in next spring, when I'm back home. At the moment here in Sweden i'm just jamming randomly with various people. Other than that I've played in a jazz band until recently. I've also played in a progmetal band, a gothic/acoustic-project, a country rock project and various school bands. So, yes, i like variety.

Played trumpet for 12 years and used to be pretty fucking awesome at it, but really don't have a reason to play anymore and it's too difficult to keep up the necessary muscle without motivation. I'm classically trained and all that and have got a decent handle of basic music theory, so that makes learning new instruments a lot easier. Learning guitar now, next the bass.

I've played guitar now for 10 years.

    -Schecter C1 Classic

I use a Line 6 XT Live pedal for shows, and play through a Peavey Valveking with Fender Metalhead cabs. The head and cabs aren't mine, but belong to my guitarist. I'm still saving up for new equipment haha.

I am pretty experienced with Pro Tools, as well as FL Studio. But do the majority of my recording at the studio.

My band is fairly well known locally, and is under national management. Our full length album is almost complete, and we just finished shooting our first music video.
We are touring all next year, and are still in talks with labels.

I also play piano and bass guitar fairly well.

I can't read sheet music though. My music style is based off of improvisation and learning/playing by ear.

I've been playing guitar consistently since 2006.

I have a red Fender Telecaster and an ebony Epiphone Sheraton.

I play them out of a Fender Hot Rod tube amp.

Took vocal lessons for about a year as well and sing every now and then. I can play some bass and piano.

Here's a link to the first band I was in, where I sang and played rhythm guitar:

And the one I'm currently in where I just play guitars and do backing vocals:

Nitrous, yes I'm a big fan of MARS, but they're not the main influence, I mainly like strong epic chord progressions with a good overlay^^

    as for my gear.
I play on a sheckter hellraiser omen series and a sheckter damien I recently bought
my amp is an ENGL invader 150 and a hughes&ketner cabinet
effects I'm not too fond of since I like my sound raw and pure...

^ I agree, pretty much all I use is Distortion and Delay. Really all I need. I almost bought the Schecter Devil Tribal back in 2003, but decided to go with my first "good" amp. It was the Marshall MG100HDFX 1/2 Stack. But I do own a Schecter Tempest Custom which is one of my favorites. Never played an ENGL before. Right now I'm working on getting the Bogner Xtasy head w/ EL34 tubes. In my opinion it has some of the best tone I've heard from any amp... note the (aprox) $5k price tag on the 1/2 stack.

Wow. ENGL and an H&K? thats awesome Stijn.

Great to see so many other Schecter players on here though. I absolutely love how solid the neck feels.
However, my dream guitar would have to be one of the higher end Paul Reed Smiths:D

Piano, drums, sax, and vocals. I'd say I'm at least competent in each.
  • BelgianGuy%s's Photo
    my dreamguitar, let's see
custom shop explorer type from ESP with customized shape and inlays but hey I'll tell you guys when I've 10grand in spare for that^^
  • Nitrous Oxide%s's Photo
^ I would have to say a custom would be my dream guitar aswell. But a PRS Custom 24 would be awesome aswell. Has anyone had a chance to play the new Ibanex ART or ARZ's? I just bought the Ibanez ARZ400, all white with black binding, no inlays with EMG-HZ pick-ups for $500. I've never really been big on "Les Paul style" guitars other than the ESP EC's. But these guitars have an amazing neck, feel, and sound great! There are several different models for basically any style of player. There's a model with EMG-60/81 humbuckers, 7-string model, they also have acouple budget models aswell with the ART100 for $299. And damn, did someone finally perfect the les paul style body!
  • BelgianGuy%s's Photo
the reason i love sheckter so much in:cities is they have all their models in left hand series wich is a perk for me as it's hard to find a decent left hand guitar that isn't in the price range you'd need to sell a kidney just to be able to pay the damn thing...
