RCT Discussion / Who else misses write-ups?

  • Corkscrewy%s's Photo
One of the big motivators for me when I joined the site was reading the in depth analysis of a highly respected player on your submission. For me the write-ups were truly what gave the design meaning, and purpose.

I guess my question is.. Is there any way it implement this back into the site? And who feels the same way??

I would really like to see them again too, in some form, I really liked em.

We felt that most people didn't read them and often they would hold up the submission process. With these points in mind it was decided to remove them. However I too enjoyed reading them and also writing them when I had the time.

Perhaps they will come back one day.

At the very least I'd like to be able to see write-ups of parks that had them before NE5.

The more I think about accolades the more I really do miss write ups. Sorry for bumping this but I really didn't think I was alone on this. Probably the best part about getting an accolade was reading a detailed analysis of your work by another member.

They really were one of my favorite things. I remember when dream port came out and before I read it I got myself a cocktail and a snack and sat down and read that bitch. It was an event. I just really miss them.

I love you all. But I miss them.

I would second that i also miss them, made there something special about winning an accolade. I tend to feel like, without a front page to post about accolades on, and without write ups, getting an accolade has become a very underwhelming event. Some released parks i didn't even notice got accolades because it's not easy to notice.

All these concerns have been noted and are on our list of things to do backstage. It's just going to take some time to make them reality.

I miss accolades being the main focus of the front page too. As many have said. There's many times I miss releases because of the new layout. I don't mean to sound like a bitch but. Haha just voicing my concerns. I still love you all :)

Don't forget there's the "New Content" button on the menu bar, and everything can be sorted by "newest."  That helps with keeping track of what's been added.

If people are interested in write-ups coming back, one of the big obstacles is having enough volunteers to do them.  You want writeups?  Be prepared to do writeups.  More posts like this!

Haha no no I do click on that often. But not everyday. Sometimes it's a few days before I realize what's been released.

Just go to the top menu hover over Parks then click Newest.
