Theme Park Discussion / Efteling 2015: B&M

  • Liampie%s's Photo

So it appears the Efteling will invest €36 million in 2015, of which €18 million is meant for the construction of a new roller coaster. A B&M Dive coaster, apparantly, with a 37,5 metre drop.

My roller coaster enthusiasm has diminished over the year, I'm no longer the obsessed kid from ten years ago... But this news is the most exciting thing I've heard in years! At last, a B&M in the country. Not my favourite type, probably not a world class coaster, but a B&M nonentheless. In my favourite park. I hope they found a good location for it where it doesn't mess up anything; that's my only concern.

    This. Is. Awesome.

short summary of it all is, the efteling is getting a new 37.5 meter high dive coaster to be completed in 2015. to boost the number of annual guests in 2020 to 5 million. also to attract more people from abroad they're expanding bosrijk with 400 extra beds.

I fixed it, though in a slightly confusing way.

People suspect that the coaster may arise behind the Pirana, by the way.

You could add it to your design!

37.5m is even smaller than Krake in Heide Park :/

So I guess it's certain, that it won't be a great coaster, but it's Efteling. I expect some insane theming.

Looks like i'm putting off a trip to Efteling until 2015 or later then.

    Not bad.

I love the theming, though I'm tired of every new dive machine having a ridiculously short layout (I'm looking at you Krake). Maybe Cedar Point's 2016 project will change that.

Efteling usually manages to turn mediocre rides into great experiences. I don't really doubt that they will do it again.
