Theme Park Discussion / Asian 2016 Coasters

I figured since there's a USA one I'd do a thread on my area of expertise.
someone else can do the European thread if they like.   :p

People in the USA thread were moaning there are no normal coasters anymore. There should be more normal coasters here thankfully.

    Intamim hypercoaster. Nice.

Naturally I favor the Jurassic Park flyer more than any of these but they do seem fantastic.

Wow. Asia builds so many rides its ridiculous. New parks everywhere. They any good? The concept art and stuff is always ridic

Asia, china especially,  definitely seems to be in its golden age of coasters. Loads of stuff going on now.

Thanks for posting these.  Most of these, I didn't know about.  That Intamin hyper is what interests me most.  We need more of those in the world.

  • Roomie%s's Photo

The Intamin hyper has one of the most insane drops I've ever seen. Think steel El Toro.

The image here is a bit small but it's all we have so far. :(

That's very odd. Whats the point of all that straight track? The trend has been less and less supports on the lifts as possible, that thing is packed with them.

  • Roomie%s's Photo

It's explained as a panoramic curve. It's by far the tallest ride in the country at the moment so I guess it's for the views. Which I can appriciate.

As for the support structure I'm unsure. The lack of supports on rides like Fury, I305, Leviathan and to a certain extent Skyrush are because the thickened and extended spine makes an arch which strengthens the hill and requires less support. I guess with a curve at the top you can't do that.

The new mack hyper looping coaster "Lightning" at Lewa World is coming along. And it looks sweeeet

That thing is a straight up inverting hyper. So weird.

  • RCT2day%s's Photo

It only has that one loop, right? That's what seems the weirdest to me.

  • inthemanual%s's Photo

looks like a zero-g in those pics too.

  • Louis!%s's Photo

Yeah there is a loop and a zero-g. You can see in the layout mock up in the first post :)

    another exciting MACK coaster <3

Lewa World is also building this waterslide in the adjacent waterpark, one of the commenters mentions thinking its 198 feet tall... So hyperslides are possibly a thing now... I'm guessing that's 198 to the tip of the structure but that is still immense.

Great Video! Neat setting that it's in. Always thought it was a unique and interesting layout. Are they even reusing the station?
