Ask the Experts / Semi-Shuttle

I'm in no way what you'd call a talented hacker, but I was wondering whether it would be possible to create a shuttle coaster with an invisible merged track disguised as transfer track.

Something like Switchback at ZDTs amusement park.

I'm aware that we cannot create functional transfer tracks, but this is how I thought about it:

Essentially the train traverses the "transfer track" thrice, and you'd only want to trigger the "transfer" at the third time it traverses the merge to the invisible track.

So yeah, is this possible in RCT2?

Is this the sort of thing you're talking about? It's not quite correct because the train switches while it's moving backward, rather than reversing back up the first drop and then switching, but I couldn't figure out how to make it work otherwise. Somebody better than me might have some other ideas.

Yeah, exactly like you said. I'll see if somebody knows how to built it with a forward switch, but if nothing else works, your solution would solve the problem.

The problem is, there's no way that I know of to get the coaster train to not merge off onto the station return track the first time it passes over it, then have it merge off toe return track the second time. X7123's post is the best way to do it with RCT2 limits.
