Ask the Experts / Invisible entrances/exits - 8cars 1.32 problem

    So I do everything my tutorial and G Force said: colour the land underneath the entraces a different colour, build a dummy track, add a 1/4 landblock underneath, raise the land 125 units, build another block right undr the surface, lower the land again 125...All this with 8cars 1.302.

     

    But then I open up 8cars 1.32 to edit the dummy track and make it invisible, but it's nowhere in the list! Only Spiral RC with wooden coaster trains, or some shop or spinning coaster in crooked house mode that I didn't even built!

     

    Is this a problem with 8cars, did I do something wrong?? I'm sick and tired of not being able to do this hack, so any help is really appreciated.

    A 1/4 land block underneath? Try with a 1-tile object like a roof for example, and on the top of the 125 landblock use the invisible support object.

    Give the ride an obnoxious name like "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" and look again.

    edit: doesn't have to be "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" specifically, I reckon "BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB" might work too, as well as "CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC" and "MILEYCYRUSILLUMINATI".

    I believe all of the unfilled slots just display some random stuff like that, nothing to worry about.

    Right, the hack worked! Great, but know everything I build on the tile turns invisible.

    You know the object that you put under the land spike? If you delete that block, everything you build on that tile after will be invisible. Don't delete it.

    Question: if I wanted to make a ride invisible completly with Crooked House, WITH invisible entrances, do I have to make the ride inivisible first? I've made the huts invisible first, but every time I use the crooked house hack now the game just gets an error trapper.

    Crap, I get why I can't make it invisible, it's got diagonal pieces in it.

    OpenRCT2 will let you make diagonals invisible. But you lose compatibility with vanilla if you do that.

    Thanks for the tip, but compatibility with vanilla is kinda needed for what I'm making.

    If you make the diagonal and other special pieces invisible first with the hack you used on the huts (color the track pieces with another color scheme, put blocks under it etc. and make track with that color scheme invisible), the crooked house hack should work to make the rest of the ride invisible. Works in vanilla.

    Can't say I've tried it, but I wouldn't be surprised. The reason diagonals crash when used with crooked house is because the drawing functions are missing. If it never gets drawn, it won't try to invoke the missing function.
