Theme Park Discussion / Fun with Statistics Austin55 version

Not nearly as pretty as roomie and much more US-centric because I don't travel much.

First topic is countries with rides over 200 feet. These numbers include both defunct rides and shuttle coasters. Should also mention that there may be mistakes. If you see any lemme know.

Taiwan, Australia, Mexico and Dubai have built one each. Not including shuttle coasters boots Taiwan (Big Air) and Australia (Tower of Terror) off the list.

Germany, Spain, Canada and the UK have 2 each. All are full circuit and still operating.

Japan and China are currently at 7. Japan includes Moonsault Scramble, which was the first coaster ever over 200 feet (Not Magnum) but also defunct and a shuttle.

The US currently sits at 40 all time. 7 of these are shuttle coasters, and 4 are defunct.

Here's a breakdown of all the rides.

    Other fun things to note,

Cedar Point has more rides over 200 feet than the entire of the EU (Thaks, Brexit!)

Ohio is the state with the most, 8 all time, 7 existing, 6 full circuit. California has 4, 3 being full circuit.

3/4 coasters over 200 feet that no longer exist were shuttle coasters, Speed, Chiller, & Moonsault. SoB being #4.

10 parks are operating with at least 2 coasters over 200 feet, 7 parks US, 1 China, 1 Canadian, and 1 in Japan. These parks are SF Over Texas, Kings Island, Happy Valley Shenzhen, Fuji-Q, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Canada's Wonderland, Carowinds, SF Great Adventure, SF Magic Mountain, and Cedar Point.

Some are a bit odd and could perhaps be ruled out. Wild Eagle is'nt really 200 feet, the drop is 135, but the lift is. X2 is the other way around, the lift is 175 feet but the drop is beyond 200. These are included.

Well, 200 ft coaster really are an american thing.

See I would include Wild Eagle as it stands 200ft tall regardless of the drop height, and exclude X2 as that stands at 175ft regardless of the drop being over 200ft.

Actually, Wild Eagle's lift is only 190 feet, it's 210 from the entrance path to the top of the lift.  Lightning Rod's lift is 206 feet though so maybe count that one haha
