It's been a while since our last spotlight, but I've been waiting until the right park came along, and it has. Following up his NE Debut, the spotlight winning "Disney's Tiled Acres", Meretrix keeps his Disney spirit alive with one of the most anticipated parks of the past year, Disney's Phantasia Resort. A highly upgraded, much improved, newer park when compared to his first one, this park features brand new rides, themes, and ideas that have never before been used in Disney parks. It still has the good old classics that make the Disney parks so special, and enhances each and every bit of everything in the entire park to make this quite possibly the best and most realistic fantasy Disney park ever.

    Congradulation Meretrix!

Can't wait to see it, because it won't open for me...

EDIT: thought I got it to work... loaded the objects... had to restart RCT first... and it still is missing something...
  • iwillkillu999%s's Photo
Thats strange it didn't open for me either. Congrats Meretrix anyway!

    I can't open it either..

Same here. Am I missing objects? I can't wait to see it.
  • iris%s's Photo
I had lots of trouble opening it when I first got it.
I had to add all these things to my folders before it finally worked...maybe Trix can come and help us out.
  • Meretrix%s's Photo
Iris, why don't you post a list that peeps can add to, of things they are missing. Then you can just post a zip link of those objects (since you have them already)....

It's a RIDES issue, not so much a scenery issue, as I recall. If you go to RCT Bonanza, there are a BUNCH of flatrides to download. If you snag them all, you should be able to open Phantasia, as all the scenery in the park is pretty standard fare.
  • TheGuardian%s's Photo
suddenly what Meretrix just said was sorta in a weird way a RPG story (if you snag em all you can open up Phantasia) A-HA! so it must be good!

    Congrats.

    http://bonanza.simty.../rct2/rides.htm

Thats like 40 something rides trix, witch ones do we need? coz im sure you did not use them all. But really thats why you had that huge file problem, and rides like that are not worth all the waiting time. Id like too look at your park but its not gona be EZ...
  • Meretrix%s's Photo
OK, basically I pulled ALL of the THRILL rides from that site (Top Scans, Whips, ALL of AE's rides, etc.)

I did not use any of the special boat rides or the special bumper cars (Mech Warriors etc.)

I also did not use the balloon ride (wasn't ready in time)

So, to make things easier on the Godfather, post a list of shit that you're missing and I'll send it to a host for all to download. Anyone game?
  • iwillkillu999%s's Photo
Well I tried it again and still it doesn't work. Anything else?
  • VC15SA%s's Photo
With all the rides you did?
  • Meretrix%s's Photo
Iris has ALL the rides and weird scenery files. This may go down in NE history as the most difficult Spotlight to open (even more so than DTA).

Pay attention to the files you are missing...it will be easier to figure it out...

wait a second.....I am going to send Iris the files I sent to him before.....and hopefully he'll post them here (are you listening Iris?)
  • VC15SA%s's Photo
Wow this is becoming very frustrating. In the end I'm sure it will all be worth it though!!!

Horrah for the sad evolution of RCTII with its custom scenery craze that results in so many problems. One can only hope this is all salvaged within the coming days. Otherwise, there may be no reason to live.

    HH---- out.

psst, little sleep, lots of caffine. :birthday2:

I can't open it! :@ So close yet so far away! Is it really neccessary to start downloading all of the custom rides?

EDIT: File is working and can you say 'WOW'? This park blows practically any Disney park out the water. I'll go land by land critcising:

Main Street: This is amazing. It screams Disney from every corner you look. The rides are typical of a Disney theme park and suit the area well. Good job on this area.

Fantasyland: I was actually quite disappointed. I loved how in Tilted Acres you themed every ride. Here the rides are just covered up "adventures". I know there's the sprite limit but one ride could've been nice.
The architecture was top notch. Everything just flowed so well despite the different colors. Some of the ride tracks you selected weren't very Disneyish but now I'm just being picky! :) Overall the land was executed quite good but could've been better.

Halloween Town: This area is brilliant. I don't really know the story of the Nightmare before Christmas but the rides seemed to fit in very well with the surrounding area. I wasn't too excited about Bald Mountain, mainly because it slowed my computer down to a snail's pace. Everything else was great and was fun exploring!

Discover Bay: Much better than your last attempt. The rides were great, theming was excellent (although a bit repetetive at times) and the place was filled with atmosphere. Your JttCotE ride was OK but I wasn't too thrilled with it.

Adventure Isle: My favorite land. I was disappointed abit with the Indiana Jones ride but I had high expectations. Everything else was amazing. The show arena was lovely, a very nice touch. I LOVED the moving walls. It was fun discovering it! Your coaster was themed very well. (although the layout sucked :p ). Overall I felt this was the part which felt Disnet the most, imo.

Overall, this park is definately spotlight worthy. You've pulled off a great and original Disney park. Nice job.

    Disney Freak.

Apparently, i need DDFL.dat (or something like that), but I already have it. weird.

Anyway, I can't wait that long (to download all the files) , so all I can say is that it looks really, really cool from the screenshots.

yah for me, the spider ride got the thing going.

first thing that came to mind

    WTF ! :OMG:

dont really like it though, many spots are so dark (including about all the mountains, why?) and the wreck looks like your scenery toolbar broke and everything just fell on the mountain, sorry.

some parts like the mainstreet got the disney feeling allright, but other parts just dont do it for me, way to much shit around, but it does represent the disney, because i know that when i open the park next time i will see stuff i missed before, but it just isnt my thing, sorry. (prob. because i don't like disney itself to, loads of crap, really few ride's)

nice park, nice CS, but not my cup of thea...

Well I got it to work. The only ones I needed to get were Spider by Ripper
Strat-o-Liner by Ripper and Squiggles from that Bonanza site Kumba posted.
Not sure what other files you would need but I definetly know that you need those 2.

Main Street: I loved every bit of this land when I first saw it in the unfinished SE edit you released a while back and I still do. The architecture, the rides, and everything just jumps at you and screams Disney. Also the Mickey Fantasia hat fountain was very cool and a neat idea.

Fantasyland: The Castle was very nice and all but the only 2 things I didn't like about it is it seemed a bit blocky on parts of it and you could tell what the layout was with one glance.
I do have to agree with Disney Freak, It was a bit dissapointing not seeing any open rides and having most of them covered.
The architecture was amazing as usual. The colors, shapes, sizes, etc. were all amazing and had Disney written all over it.

Halloween Town: I loved Bald mountain. The fire and the wreckage looked really good being scattered about on it and I liked how there was a ride on the inside of it. I also liked you Haunted Mansion ride even though it look a bit small like the one in DTA it still looked pretty cool.
Everything else was awsome and this land was definetly my 2nd favorite cause of all the things to explore and see.

Discover Bay: Much better than your one in DTA but I thought there could have been more to it. The architecture did get a bit repeditive at times but it was still very good. Overall I think the size of the area ccould have been a bit bigger but overall it is very nice.

Adventure Isle: If anyone could pull off a Disney adventure theme well it is you Trix. This area was full of atmosphere and had everything you could want for a theme like this. I loved the Abracadabra ride. It was cool to see it snake in and out of the architecture and the amazing landscaping. Overall I loved this area and it definetly is my favorite area out of the whole park. Awsome work Trix!

Overall this park was amazing and definetly earned it's Spotlight position.
Amazing work Meretrix and congrats on another Spotlight. :D
I hope to see more amazing parks from you in the future.

Wow meretrix, a park that hard to open has got to be incredible....Congrats!
