Welcome to Marriott’s Project: “Triple X” Grand Opening

I’ve had many discussions with people about this project and the concept really has not made sense to many of them. I can’t really blame them either. Even I have a hard time explaining it. With that said though, it has been one of, and will continue to be, the best project to work on for me.

I won’t bore you all with the details here however I would recommend reading the readme file in the zip file. It will help explain the concept.

Included in this download you will find three of the nine planned maps.

Marriott’s Great America map – This park was inspired by the original chain of Marriott parks in the late 70’s early 80’s. The park still has some expansion to take place and we should see the next update to it later this summer

Resort map – This map is dedicated to one of my true passions for the game. This map (when complete) will feature 3 resorts. This release features IMO my best resort to date.

Parking Facility map – If your going to have 3 parks, you need a parking area big enough to support it. This has to be the largest parking are ever completed in RCT2. Yes I am that crazy to even think of it.

Future releases will include new maps and updates to existing maps. To help keep track of these, you can visit the official website for not only this project but also links to all my past works at RCTNW Designs

For this release, all three parks can be found in one download link. I will eventually split out the maps to separate downloads. A special thanks to brent for the hosting.

I would also like to thank the following:

Geewhzzz – Thanks for all the help in some of the little details when the hacks weren’t working for me. Specifically the sky ride towers. Those rockl!

Turtle – Thanks for the advice towards the end. Some of the suggestions that I was not able to incorporate for this release will be used on the next one. Also thanks for the kick ass Dive Coaster on the MMW map!

Kumba – Thanks for helping on some of the hacks on the MGA map. They really made a difference. I also thank you for the coaster on the MMW map. That will be fun to theme!

I hope you all enjoy the parks as much as I did building them. It’s been a blast and the next update will be even better.

Amazing park, one of the best and most realistic parks ever seen by my eyes. Just tons of detail. Really dugg the rapids ride (queue and lift stood out mostly) and the Demon recreation. Cannot wait to see the rest of the project completed.

Oh, and yeah, you pretty much perfected the First Gen Intamin Freefall.

Excellent job. My favorite part so far probably is the Yankee Harbor area, or possibly Traffique Jam. I had one suggestion, but I can't remember it lol. I can't wait for more of the project.

Downloading now. Looks good, though. Looking forward to the MMW map, especially after seeing Kumba's little creation :p .

    (Yes, I've seen Kumba's coaster, it's crazy)

Thought this was going in for spotlight?
  • Kumba%s's Photo
It has a good chance to win spotlight. Me, Cork and James worked something out thats pretty fair, so don't worry about it to much :)

Awesome work James, I really like what you have done. I am super busy this weekend, but I will try to give you some more feedback Monday or Tuesday when I get back from Orlando.

Very nice, I love the realistic look in the park and everything fits it nicely. The rapids was my favorite, looking forward to next year. :)

    Very nice man!

I really liked the atmosphere of this park. Some buildings are kinda plain, but the rest of the work is very well done. I specially loved how you made the monorrails (including all the structures which interact with it heh).

Can't wait for the next release. Keep going :D

loved every single bit of it!

So I looked through it earlier:

    OLY FUCKING SHIT.

Every damn square on each damn map was as good as (if not over) Spotlight quality. I'm not gonna be one of those cheap bastards that says, "Hey, you got some talent." Right now, you are my idol.

I'd hug you, but I'm not that kind of person.

I took a quick glance over the Great America park last night and I must say I was greatly impressed. Its got to be one of the best realistic style parks I have ever seen. I still have the pleasure of having a look at the resort and parking areas yet which I think I will do right now and edit this post.

    Amazing work.

Edit: Just checked out the parking and resort maps and they were both just as insane. I cant believe just how big the parking facility was that must have taken so long to do. I loved the monorail supports and the sheer scale of that hotel was simply breath taking I really cant wait for your next update.

Your style is one of my favs right now and this park is a large reason why. I really hope this park gets the awards/accolades it deserves, despite its unique release style.

    geewhzz - Thanks (I hope)

Brent - Thanks. I was wondering if anyone would notice the skull on the Demon. I had fun with that one. :)

gwazi - Thanks. TJ was not part of the Santa Clara park however I like the idea of the location. If truth be told, DL's Autopia was the tru insperation for it though.

zodiac - Thanks, yes it is crazy, glad you liked it, I'm not that kind of person either!

Kumba - Thanks. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it

sfgadv02 - Glad you liked it

RCfanB&M - Thanks. I was also very happy with the monorail supports

RCTFan - Thanks every bit of it!

Loopy - I'm happy someone actually spent the time and looked over the other two maps. They really help support the whole concept and help tie it all together

JDP - Thanks but I hope you do DL it.

r_e - Thanks. Regardless if this project gets any awards/accolades, it really is not what it is all about. This is the first project that even after 8 months of work on it, I still have the same passion for it today that I did in the begining. That is what it is all about.

Again, many thanks for the kind words.

Well I do remember saying in your topic for your advertisment that this would be one of those parks that I would always upload to look at. Well I was right. It drives me crazy on how much there was in that parking lot and hotel. Seems you put a lot of time into your work, good job with that. But yeah, when i first opened the park I was kind of dissapointed at first I though it would be more than what it was but the more I looked at the park, the more I like it. I love your coasters. I cant tell you the last time I have seen a park that had nice simple coaster as your park did. I love how there wasnt anthing major. The biggest was prob the Arrow looper. Nice to see an Arrow rule the park (thank god it wasnt a 4D). I used to hate wizzer coasters but you was amazing. I loved the layout and thought the support job was good. I dont know why but I just loved the simple coaster layouts that you chose to build. Over all James, I thought the park was good. I give it an 8/10. The biggest down fall was probably the buildings having such a simple detail to them but yet it was realistic and elegant. So great work James and congrats on getting parkmaker as well. We need more realistic parkmakers! :)

crap, i'll have to install rct2 now.
    well done man.
you're tough competition for that 11-mapper project from the dutch at rct-guide.nl.

those are some great parks RCTNorthewest. you have to be one of the best if not the best at large buildings. i get you whole idea. my only question is did you decide to make this project based off the convention center or visa vera or niether...lol. you attention to major detail is great in this park. instead of working on one building you manage to take an entire parking lot and make it interesting and realistic. cant wait for the next parks. your layout so far has been great. keep up the great work!!!

JDP - Thanks. Future releases of the park will have one or two large coasters and perhaps a woody in the near future is that is one part of the park that is missing.

posix - Thanks. Was the 11 mapper rct2 or LL? I would love to see it

FX - actually it was right after I finished the CC that I started to think about this. Didn't put it into motion unitl several months later though. Thanks

    Thanks everyone for the feedback.

I loved the maps. I think I liked the convention center the best, just awesome and built on such an amazing scale. The parking map is an instant classic. I love the monorails, trams and layout. The thought and planning you must have put in is mindbogglingly. I think the resort map was the only letdown, even if it clearly is the least developed one, that one hotel is just a little to repetitive.

The MGA was really nice. I liked the rapids and Corkscrew coaster a lot. I had some trouble figuring out the car ride, but liked it once I did. The huge walk-in shows were awesome, I am surprised that I have not seen that done before. The hacked rides were great, I love the freefall coaster and was happy to help you figure it out.

I can't wait to see more, great work James.
